I just found this and thought it was quite funny. Timbaland may have stolen music from India.

it's mostly arabic music that he sampled, and unlike the shower of youtube & blog gimps that try to claim him a thief for various samplings, i really don't care. is the music good, yes for the most case. timbo's mistakes is that he doesn't credit the original makers, because he knows, and the rest of the world knows, that he samples.
and now a word from the captain obvious, hiphop is built on samples, taking the best part of a track to either basing the whole track out of it or rearranging it to making it the best
now, let's dig a little deeper, i'm going to use the three that is always pointed out first. this is the part that most of the bloggers & youtube leave out.
the mayada el hennawi sampling for aaliyah , great choice of sample. the strings in mayada's track was only in the intro, lasting 40 seconds or so, then the rest of the 11minute (yes, 11) does not even remotely contain the string arrangement from the intro.
next aaliyah sample, warda - batwannes beek, classic arabic song, another great sample, this one is not like the mayada track, the stringmelodies that timbo used is the vocalmelody of the hook of this 14minute track, the strings he used appears mostly in the first 5minutes of the track.
the abdul halim hafez, well, actually hossam ramsay wrote and sang the track first, only abdul halim hafez made the track popular, sample for big pimpin. timbo's best sampling work, it's a replaying actually if you want to be technical. he used the first bar of the flute&string melody loop here, that is only in the intro.
ye, it really s me right off when people cry murder over this, it's just music, and especially when they are giving it out in headline form. the people who do this want the strong shockvalue (no pun intended), because they know the nonmusicgeek doesn't have the attentionspan to hear the full story.
to paraphrase will.i.am from a recent interview, there is nothing in this world that is 'original', whether it's music, cars, clothes or food, it's just how you put your spin on it.
