The same energy, melody and crazy vocals? |
Sorry mate, we've been looking for years to find alternatives but to no avail. GTG is the definate benchmark and the perfect entry point for anyone wanting to explore and deepen on the progression of Trance. |

just a question for you psy heads - do you guys still consider d-nox and beckers and dousk to still be in the prog psy realm? |
I guess d-nox and beckers would be part of the psy-scene - though in terms of musical style, they would be just off the borderline. I was quite suprised during their peak with Jetlag and so forth, that people would deem it psy-prog?
One of the main reasonings behind this I think, would be that they share stages with quite a number of psy-prog acts/DJs which not to mention also play at many psy-orientated festivals/events. To top things off, psy labels would release compilations with them being included on the tracklist AND have psy artists remix their tracks! You could call them psy-prog's distant cousins!
I would not consider Dousk as psy-prog but more of lost language-ish proghouse. Producers like Liquid Soul would be more of a classic or sterotypical example of psy-prog imo.
There seems to be quite alot of artists being thrown into the whole psy label nowadays and I guess it's just a show of how much it has grown and popularized [if that's even a word]. |

Well said.
That sums up my thoughts.
What about stuff like Crazy Ducks, or Tom Cosm's tunes? They could be considered psychedelic, because they have all the requisite weird sounds and heads, but there's not a trancey element in sight, they instead sound far more techy.
Psy-tech? |
