Uh...no it's not.
Having a bad father who lets you sleep around is not the same as having none at all, because then the mother will have to step in and do the parenting that the absent father is not there to do.
Besides, as I've said for the third time now, gender is largely irrelevant - personality is more important, because you can have good and bad fathers, and good and bad mothers. Depending on which one you get, you're going to turn out a certain way, regardless of whether you had one parent or none.
Ok - how's this for a spanner in the works? Two gay guys adopt a girl and raise her - is she going to end up a whore, or someone with high values?
You can't say, because it's not dependent on gender or sexual orientation, but whether the parents have high morals themselves.
Again - two gay fathers (or any other "unusual" parent situation) raising a child will obviously have significant effects on the child's personality, but not on the child's morals. |

alot of women are too weak and cannot lay down the law with their children. in our family, this is 100% the case. my mum will put herself through hell to make us happy. we literally have to go out of our way to make sure she looks after HERSELF. needless to say, whenever we did something wrong as kids, it was always dad delivering the punishment.
imagine such a family without the dad.
i'd be an absolute piece of child. mum literally would let us get away with anything. |

Point taken, but that's just YOUR family.
Mine is the exact same.
However, in a family where the father is absent, the mother learns to lay down the law if she has to.
In addition, as I said, I know stable families with mother + father whether the female is the one that deals out all the discipline. It just depends on personalities - you can have strict mothers and fathers, or the reverse. I don't think gender has a significant effect on a person's "discipline skills". |
