Yeah but Clovis, you come in here bitching about a movie you don't want to see because it's not up to your standards, while at the same time admitting you know these kind of movies aren't your thing and you don't want a reason to like it.
I'm not really sure why you came in this thread other than to assert that you have more discerning taste than people who like movies like this? |

ya'll are forgotting Batman: Dark Knight, is gonna piss all over this one.
mark my words, is gonna win oscars for best effects and best 2nd role actor for both the effects crew making Will Smith look like Heath Ledger and Will Smith himself for the awesome acting of Heath Ledger and The Joker at the same time!! |

i agree clovis. movie looks like , most comic movies ARE , american action films normally equal . |

Truthfully, I saw RJT post in here and became intrigued as to why. I know he's not into CGI movies and generally has good taste (he made me realise grandma's boy is in fact a film) so I thought I'd see what his thoughts on this are.
I actually thought Ironman looked like it might be interesting, before I saw the extended previews and heard more about the "America, Yeah!" aspect which Sushi pointed out (something I absolutely cannot stand). Then I read that review, which most likely hit all the points and reasons why I would not enjoy this, and figured I'd share. If I eventually see this at home, we'll see how on the money that review was (and determine if I ever pay attention to anything Dave Denby has to say at all in the future) Apparently, fans of such films are a sensitive breed and don't take kindly to people expecting a bit more from their movie going experience. The amount of lambasting is pretty much identical to the last time I got into a thread like this (Transformers) and the replies are pretty much exactly the same.

Regardless of how right or wrong he is, again, he hits the things that will most likely bother me about the film, and thus, more reason why I will not see it in a theater. There are a few other movies I'd much rather use my bi-monthly movie going experience on :stongue: |
