i cant believe no one has mentioned his setup yet... i understand its only a mix cd but regardless i think something thats obviously (deserved or not) going to make a ton of money should have a better setup than 2 speakers set up on chairs, some cdjs, and everything going into a macbook pro. or whatever the that whack looked like. if theres any terrible mixing (more than likely) like in isos5 we know the reason. why the do artists really do all this in just one day? why not take some ing time? oh wait, now i remember, they dont care because its all about the money.
im looking forward to hearing it because i actually really loved isos6 (isos3 being my fav), but after seeing that setup i expect it to be much more like isos5 in that "i dont care how badly produced it is because as long as its got my name people will buy it" tijs attitude. |

i'm no recording pro, but what more do you need to *record* the mix?
i'm sure there'll be plenty of mixing/production/editing/etc afterwards in studios...
also, who knows if what that video shows is what they actually wound up using... |

The stuff in the video was probably just there to demonstrate the asian flutes. ;) |

| Well he did say that that was the view he was seeing while putting together the mix. And I don't mind that the setup possibly only consists of what we saw in that video but for the love of god, would he stop slamming the incoming track into the mix with the low eq jacked all the way up! |

I completely agree, ISOS7: Thailand would have been the perfect title, but w/e.
And about the mixing set up... as long as you have monitors, a mixer, and turntables not reason why you can't make a good mix and polish it up with the computer later... |

| Heh, what a freaking life this guy has. I really like the idea of going to a resort or what not, and recording your mix cd there and use the people and surroundings as your inspiration in track selection. I don't want to make any predictions about how good or bad it will be, but it looks like it could be a nice beach/summer mix for sure. Very fitting for south Florida too! As far as using the CD players and mixer instead of using Ableton, which any moron kid can mix perfectly on, I like that touch. keeps DJ'ing real IMO, but as long as he can actually keep the beats lined up, I'm all for it! |
