[REVIEW] Armin Van Buuren @ Pachita 5/7/08 (pg. 13)

In respect to the #1dj curse... i think it's a combination of different variables. I think you also have to consider what kind of party wed night was - this was not meant to be an Armin Only or average nyc gig (5hour set). Armin in montreal was :eyespop: :crazy: :eyes: lots of fun that night!
This was a short party, and honestly, I was expecting to hear a lot of the stuff on ASOT that he's been throwing around lately - i was really there to hear some of his album tracks (original or mixed) live since they were new.
I'm not sure what the management/booking details are, but it would be nice if armin could get a night at Roseland (since sooooo many people are at his events) for an extended set like pvd. I like to be able to dance a little bit at gigs, and when Remy was behind the decks I was having a great time. Armin came on and bam - could barely move lol.
Oh well, all the drama aside... it was worth going out on Wed night and od'ing on coffee the next day lol. |

Indeed, that set was one of armins best EVER. wowooww! :) He isnt my fav, but he still has it in him, especially LIVE. In Montreal he has the crowd by the balls. I also realize that a massive with 25,000 people isnt going to get the same set as a 300 person party at pachita, and thats something we ALL have to accept. If he plays the bigger parties like he did in MTL, I will continue to be a fan. But wednesday's party was very lackluster, and should be kept to the smaller venues. |

ARMIN ONLY in Holland *next* year!! w00t!!! (wishful thinking for NOW tho - yeah lets see if i can fit THAT in with the demands of school and work :sadgreen: )
but seriously this is one event i have to attend before i retire completely... |

hmm thats very true!!! I def loved the crazy lineup on the one from last year. I wanted to go last October but it was a bit too close to our AMS trip date.
i hate how everything will be dictated by midterms/finals schedule starting this FALL!!!
when is it this fall? Is it October again? |

Yeah i believe its the week of sept 9th or 15th. still haven't booked my vacation to barcelona, but I am piggybacking to ibiza as well. it will be my first time (Giuseppe, above & beyond & halliwell!)! :eyes:

Andrew saw me fighting the guy and jumped in. 100% not his fault, he just saw me fighting the guy and felt like he should help. I dont think he even knew why I was kicking the dude but I dont think it mattered. I dont just go around fighting people so I think he must have known it was for a good reason. <3 <3 <3
To tell you the truth I dont really give a damn if people had 2-3 minutes of displeasure because the ****** was groping me and trying to rip my shirt off, and I was not going to sit there and let him do that . Besides, it GOT him off the floor and out of the building, and I know for a fact that he was bothering a LOT of people prior to this incident. The whole incident was very upsetting to me. :( :( The guy was knocked out and dragged off the floor (not just from me, I am not THAT strong!). I **DONT** think it was cool that randoms were coming up to him kicking him while he was down and out. you dont need to KILL the guy, but he needs to know that exposing someone's breasts is NOT cool. There was no need for all that extra , especially when these people didnt even know what the fight was ABOUT. It was like the riot act in there.
In any case, like I said, I dont go around fighting people, and I am generally pretty patient, but there is a line to be drawn and I make NO apologies. Thanks sooo much to everyone all night who were soo suportive and amazing :) :) Despite the craziness, it ended up being one of those "good moments" with our lil group, and everyone was very understanding and supportive. lol@ wai...I saw FIRE in dem eyes!! ;0
As for armin: Makes me realize how much a love Ferry. lol ;) :) Decent set, but nothing to get your panties in a bunch about. worst sound system ever. The peeeps made the night for me. shoutouts later, this is already too long!! ;) |

lol those actions were also taken (hence the heels comment). The dude was in trouble the moment it started. There must have been 5+ people who wanted to kick his ass, and as soon as one punch came, it was the riot act all over the place. weeeeird situation, I have never seen anything like it.
