Minitek: New York's Electronic Music Festival (pg. 17)

We're going to make it to Mini-tek! Got our airfare from New Orleans and bought out mini-tix. We'll be in NYC since Wednesday. Staying with a friend the first few days for sure, but may look into a hotel for Friday/saturday so that we don't feel uncomfortable coming back to her place at obscene hours of the day and in who knows what condition. Have to be considerate of her. Plus a nice dark hotel room to get some rest and recuperate is good.
Fortunatley we don't have to call in sick work the next day, but will get to rest on a long flight to Spain for Ibiza or to Hong Kong for the start of a two week Asia trip. My woman (wife) doesn't feel so hot about going back to Ibiza so it will probably have to be Asia. Point is that we'll be dead tired/passed out on the plane and that's the way we like it ;)

| :( The ticket I can definitely afford. The plane ticket isn't too bad, but I was willing to buy one. But housing is what kills me. :( I can't afford it at the moment ugh! It makes me sad. Have fun everyone! It will be a great party I'm sure. |

Hostels uptown (very small rooms and shared bathroom) go for 25 a night. Odds are you'll only need the room to change and shower ;) |

Very tough.
Found this one that doesn't look bad at all HERE
Now, one of my favourites because of the location, but not in midtown is Hotel 17, on 17th St and 2nd ave. Their sister property, Hotel 31, is on 31st between Lex and Park Aves, and they are about 200 for a room. Closer to where you want to be, but I haven't stayed there, so I can't give an opinion.
