This won't ever happen again for afterhours. I can totally see why. Trance is reach for the lasers, omfg I'm blowing up starring at a fuking light bulb and not for Sunday Morning madness. It's got far too many breakdowns and they clearly just don't have the same vibe.
The crowd may have sucked cuz it's not like you can really "dance" to a trance breakdown. But I am 100% sure the crowd was enjoying it. The music was great. Once PvD finished, the patio got emptyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It may look like the crowd wasn't enjoying themselves but it was humid from the rain late night and fuking hot!
It was great.. Just fuking short. Too fuking short. I don't want to see PvD for a little over 2 hours. Especially at $50.
Does Luis Puig also own cameo? If so, that's a greedy thing the man pulled. Just should have let him play the 3-4 hours on the terrace alone. If we would have had that extra hour, I have no doubt in my mind it would have been AMAZING.
sharing him with another club is fuking stupid, STUPID, STUPID and probably the worst thing any club owner could fuking do. You can pull that off with a Morrillo cuz he's known for Marathon sets. PvD is not like that.
omg he was so cute with those sunglasses on. hehe. Very cool to see him in a new environment. But late night patio sets [june 2006] is peak time for trance.

Edit - I dunno how anyone can say one is better than the other. He played a few of the same songs at both events [he doesn't repeat tracks when he plays a typical 6 hour set IN ONE VENUE] and it was fuking SHORT! I can't stress that enough. LP owns Space, Cameo, and Parkwest. The guy is "THE" reason that we have a scene in Miami. He is a smart business man and he does know what is best for progressing our scene in Miami. As he has done for many years.
His decisions may not be the best financially for us but he does understand how to promote events and have them be a success.
After all he did give you guys what you wanted and gave you what you all cryed for "PVD back on the terrace". This is how it had to happen because if he would have done the Terrace marathon with PVD, he may have lost his ass. |

We all wanted pvd on the terrace cuz it was a massive event.. but wtf is a lil over 2 hour set?
It's bull .
That's not how you throw a good party. Sharing a dj for 2 clubs is being greedy not "progressing" the scene cuz 'omfg he played at Cameo AND SPACE'.
progressing the scene is bringing in smaller dj's, taking risks because you know Space is a club ppl will show no matter what. Just cuz he brings big dj's doesn't mean . It's not enough. I am sorry. Kiss LP's ass all you want. |

The EDM scene is on life support in Miami, with hip hop and R&B dominating this city. So sad but true. And it's clear that LP doubled down and made bank by splitting a PVD set in 2 just so he could charge cover at 2 different venues. That hardly helps the EDM scene IMO, and only helps LP's pocketbook and bottom line profit. In the end we all ended up paying for it by getting a shortened set @ Space.
I bet that if PVD were 2 play for 6 hours on the terrace or inside the mainroom or in the middle of 11th Street on top of a car with a Mariachi backup band, LP could charge whatever he wanted and no one on TA would care or complain about the price. |

for 6 hours... I'd gladly pay 50$. Without hesitating.
This was the most he has ever ever charged for PvD. What kinda nonsense was that First 200 tickets $50 if it was 50 at the door? I totally agree with ur pocket book comment.
It's fuking PvD. Not like he brought in a nobody to play the terrace. I can guarantee you LP would not ever lose his ass by booking PvD. |

haha, how did he react to that?
i have a Canon Powershot SD870IS. wait until you hear the sound quality, no bass distortion! that was one of the main reasons why i bought the camera. quality is even better on the original file, but facebook and all those other sites always dumb it down. |

I don't kiss LP's ass only tell you the truth. Think of it how you will but understand he's the biggest figure in our scene in Miami. Who would you say is bigger??? Also Im pretty sure he has taken risks with people like, Sander Van Doorn, and recently with Chus. I love these debates but no one will win. You have said yourself that you don't like the people in NY. The guido contingent!!lol I mean who's really to say whats better. Like sitting with your feet in the sand @ Nikki Beach while looking around at paradise listening to some great house music with some of the most gorgeous women on the ing planet running around half naked or............. Last time I've checked there isn't much like that anywhere inside the US.
The 4th of July party which is the best Pool party anywhere is a perfect example. I don't go because I like Armin Van Buuren. I go because it's an amazing party. Put on by who????:)
Its not NY.
That's for sure. NY is bigger and has more of a demand for certain genre's of music that are neglected in Miami. As far as not having a scene. Thats not right. We have an excellent scene. It's better than anywhere else other than NY, or La, inside the US.We have a vastly diverse community that both works with and against us. People's taste in EDM is very diffrent than most places that I have been. We have the beach's and an atmosphere when the music and the party is right that can not be beaten. |

yea dude ive heard that camera is a beast! i want it! i have the canon sd600 and have been very happy with it for the past 2 years... only issue is bass response really. |
