ok Zach. Keep riding LP's high horse. You are very wrong to think that he is taking risk by bringing in SvD and Chus. Space is a GREAT club and I'd much rather hear any dj there then anywhere else but for the 1 millionth time....... not for 2 1/2 FUKING HOURS! I don't count his last 10-15 mins because it was just a tiny mega mix of his older stuff.

Would have been worth it if LP, instead of being greedy, decided to do a combined night with PvD @ Cameo annnnnnnnnnnd if you're a heavy hitter then PvD@ Space for after hours.
The entire night/morning was not worth 90 bucks. Maybe then PvD could have played the softer stuff at Cameo and saved the best stuff for last @ Space in the Morning. [not saying that he didn't play great stuff. Music wise, I enjoyed it very much but I just can't believe it was THAT short.]
Also - Is that Cream Ibiza Nights mix of New York City the one he played towards the end? Holy . It had the most beautiful melody ever. |
I feel ya. It's just that you have to understand the business perspective. I'm not saying you don't buuuut in order to keep the club in operation all day they must have a steady flow of people coming in drinking and spending money or else they have to shut it down. Space's operating costs are much more than you realize Melly. It's not as if they don't stand a possibility of losing money. It can and has happened.....
Thats why parties get cut short and don't go as long as they are supposed to on certain occasions. The party is normally gaged by crowd reaction and flow of drinking. Now when you have MORILLO @Space you'll have no problems keeping people coming and drinking. People keep coming in well after 10am. At PVD they stopped selling tickets at the door by 8:30 which is slow for Space afterhours. Even for a resident night. Why??? because the built in house crowd was not going to PVD. The one's who really spend money didn't go. Plain and simple. Sad to say but thats the reason we don't get as many trance parties in Miami as we once did. Its a younger audience that doesn't buy near as many drinks. Not knocking, just telling it how it is. Like I said before PVD could have thrown down one of the most legendary sets of all time and had a similar reaction. |

I am glad everyone thought it was total bull for such a short set, but it was a great set!
Soooo many cracked out people, it was hilarious!
I think the Space bouncers suck balls :( The crowd that they had waiting to get in was ridiculous. Javi summed it up perfectly!
Trance doesn't work on the terrace, it just doesn't. Sunday crowds are totally different, so for those who went and expected all trance, I am sorry. PVD has changed up his style, listen to his VONYC Sessions and you'll understand.
Hope everyone had fun, I know I did :) |

I just want to know what the man did with his New York City track. Might have been the NYC vocals over another song cuz it's not the Cream Ibiza Nights remix.
It had a gorgeousssssssssss Piano melody. Will look to see if someone got it on youtube.:( |

You won't lose money with PvD. I don't get your "possibility of losing money"

Ppl who spend money didn't go? This isn't an 18+ afterhours. Everyone there was 21+ and they are the ones who drink.

We just wanted him to play longer. I don't get the reaction you are assuming we are giving PvD because you weren't there. No one in the crowd seemed to be having a bad time. If they were, and stayed, then they are fuking dumb! No one is forced to stay @ Space against their will.
You are coming in acting like LP lost money here. I highly doubt that, especially since he had sales from Cameo to profit from. Show me receipts. Then I'll believe you.
Don't promote this as a huge fkin deal and have him play the shortest set in his Space history. FIRST EVER OMFG TERRACE SET. 4 till 4.

PVD debates are always the funniest.
Bottom line is I think everyone who went agrees on the fact the party was good, but the set was way too short. I also believe Melly is right, they should not promote it as some grand event "first terrace set 4a.m. - 4p.m.' blah blah BS false advertising, and then deliver the crap they did.
To me the 'music' was okay, but 'the set' could have been much better considering who was playing, the man PVD, who when on fire takes you on a muscial journey that leaves your legs numb for days. I do think those of you that have seen PVD a lot will agree he has had much better nights; for example old Space he rocked every time, last terrace set in June 06 blew this one away, PAM DJS anniversary set in November 2005 was legendary and 10000000000 times better than this one, as was November 2006 mainroom set where the BPMs were higher than Courtney Love in a meth lab. We alos can agree PVD has had much worse nights, like Spirits in January 2006 and WMC @ Space 2006, which IMO were the 2 worst sets I have heard from him ever, out of seeing him about 30 times total. This weeks set was 100000000 times better than those 2.
So Space ed it up by splitting the sets, plain & simple, and now LP can get a bigger yacht - mission accomplished congrats. Worse yet I think that resulted in what I feel was a rushed PVD set where he scrambled & tried to do too much in too little time in terms of 'genre jumping.' So I blame Space, period. They should offer PVD free next time, just like 93.1 of all people did on July 4th a few years ago. Then tell me LP is a bad ass and keeping the scene alive, because until then he is just another used car salesman trying to make an easy buck with a 'bait & switch' job for the ages having gone down this week |

it could have been Jose Amnesia - Follow Me (Guiseppe Rmx)vs. PVD - New York City, like he played at Space at WMC in March...
i dunno why you guys were expecting longer than a ~3hr set on the terrace after paul had just played a few hours at Cameo. hes not gonna spin a total of like 8/9 hours in one morning. even his "6 hour" NYC sets have recently been about 5 hours and 45 minutes :tongue2 i think hes chilling out a bit in his older years! ;) |

| looks like trance wasnt received with open arms on the terrace, the crowd seems to be more upbeat during the "housier" tracks in the vids. I think the terrace is just geared for that type of music and not trance. Still crush looked like it made the place go nuts... bring SVD to the terrace he'll do it right hahaha |
