How often do you call in sick? (pg. 2)

i work for a small non profit so we have unmlimited sick days..there are only three full time staff..so, we basically flex our hours..come and go as we choose..if i have to leave for any reason..i just do...and if i wanna take a day off..i just say i'm taking the next day off..it's crazy...i am sooooo lucky..
my fiance on the other hand..works for a multi billion dollar corporation and only has 7 days of casual leave a year..that is freakin nuts!! then again, he does make 20 grand more than i do..but i wouldn't have it any other way..:) |

At most a few days per year.
Although I'm classified as a "mobile worker" so the expectation is that I work from home 1 to 2 days per week (I generally work at the office 5 days per week however). |

I work most afternoons from home.
I never call in sick...I usually just tell them I have a case of the yanks and won't be able to come in. |

| Only call in when I'm sick, which is never....even came in after I was in an accident and my car was totalled.... But I told my boss I have mental issues and every Friday I get to leave at noon to go see my "shrink" :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: |

2-3 times a year, though this year I called in sick 4x, and I really was 3 times of those, with one fakie. |

FFS!! sick days are meant to be used. I despise it when someone comes into work sick. It usually ends up going around and is still present up to a month later.

I couldnt agree any more.
There is nothing i hate more than hearing someone hack and cough away... next day 3 people are coughing and so on and so on..
I call in when Im sick. I do get a fair amount.
And I do take the odd 'mental health day' and call in with a fake cold, but very rarely. |

I'd say I've only ever called in sick once or twice. I'd say MOST people in this country rarely call in sick.
Actual sick days that is. Not excluding the day I got blind sided by a bus. (Was in the passenger seat.) |
