What ben is trying to make you understand is the fact that Im getting married to my cosuin.Which in Pakistani culture is very common 75% marraiges back home and here are done like this.......My parents arent cousins and my grand parents werent cosuins either so This (me and her ) are the first cosuin thing happening in our family.Not that bad actually unless you have generations and generations of non stop cousin marraiges thats when problems do happen with the new born babies.......Ahh last thing Im worried about at this point. |

Really though, even though it is abnormal in our society, this, among other things, has reminded me that you can NOT define what is normal and accepted within your own view. |

what about if u have kids? isn't that like too close in the blood line? i can understand like a 4th cousin or something but a 1st cousin? |

I recently read an article about a study regarding the whole marrying first cousins thing. They basically said that unless you keep it close for many generations, there will be no problem. The whole thought of genetic impropriety due to recombining similar DNA was refuted. They found that it would take so many years of the practice, that it would never actually happen. There would be at LEAST one variation that the possibility is removed. |

Hey in the asian culture japanese or something I kinda forgot which one exactly that if you keep their business card in your back jeans pocket its a insult. LOL you have to take it as if your getting an award so that you dont offend them. |

| According to this article, I was a bit off, but nonetheless, the chances are still quite slim. Approximately double the rate of normal, but still small in the grand scheme of things. |
