i still havent made many plans.
eat as much food from street vendors/peoples houses as possible and learn about the place, thats for sure.
i want to check out laos while im over there but i think that is enoug, no more then two countries this time.
are you really in vietnam right now? how is it!? |

I know a guy who travelled around vietnam...
One night he felt sick and had to go to bed in the shower, so he could vommit and all over himself until sunrise.

if you want edm in hong kong, theres like 1 or 2 places that will play it on a consistent basis. one of those is actually a real nice place. tiny in size, and always packed on friday or sat nights, but the music is totally bumping and the djs there know their stuff. its called yumla and its in the lan kwai fong area. nice crowd, knowledgable musically. go check it out if you stop by hong kong.

a lot of 'restaurants' in ho chi minh, and especially the smaller cities are peoples apartments or houses. as long as there are people eating there, its usually a good bet. |

south east asia is THE . i've logged considerable time there for bidness and pleasureeee
first off, hong kong is not worth the trip if you don't have a lot of money to spend unless ofcourse you don't mind just walking around drinking san miguels or carlsbergs in the street messing around with hookers which is usually how i spend my nights there, it can be somewhat less expensive but the airport has this terrible tax and it costs like 20 bucks to get to the airport by taxis or the rail line. the club scene there is overrated, you see like all the chinese in hong kong think they are better than mainland chinese peeps, and the way chinese think is that if is more expensive it means it's better! yeah twisted logic. bring a serious stack if you go. (also there used to be this club called Cyber in an area called TST on the kowloon side where i used to get pills of all sorts but it would close all the time and randomly reopen. by far the best club there but be warned everyone in there is 18-19 years old completely ed up on pills so if you don't mind that and also don't mind being one of like 10 western people in there it can be fun). you might as well just go to singapore and start your trip there because singapore in a mini hong kong. whatever you do don't break any laws in singapore tho! haha really don't do anything bad there or we'll see you on national geographic
vietnam is cool although i will say if you are from the states try not to let people know when you go out at night because they really do still harbor some resentment over the whole vietnam war thing. understandable. saigon, now called ho chi minh city is really sweet, someone already mentioned it, the bar called Appocalypse Now, it's just an upscale hooker bar which is SWEEET. last time i was there i got there a day early and was by myself so i just found this cutey pie vixen of ended up riding around on her bike with her all night making out as she weaved in and out of traffic. unless you're staying in a nice ass hotel don't bother trying to bring a girl back because they have laws against bringing local women into hostels or low class hotels.
spend like 3-4 days in vietnam and go right to cambodia and overland to thailand and then to malaysia. the scenerey is so so sick. and cambodia. angkor wat is in dope ass like cooler than anything else in the world. you can spend days there just exploring and chillin out in the jungle watchin out for spiders! also you can go to shooting ranges and shoot anti-aircraft guns and ak-47s for a price. for like 150 US bucks you can blow up a cow with an RPG. no joke. cambodians are really nice people, they've been through quite a bit in thier time...
thailand is awesome. there is too much to do there and the people rock. your best bet for a cool club scene is in bangkok or chiang mai. also you can go to ko phanahn when there is a full moon and eat some boomers(aka shrooms) and party all night but that is played out now. like someone else said there are no club scenes per se unless you go to mainland china or bali.
malaysia is bomb ass too but getting there from thailand you want to fly because the south of thailand is really dicey territory with in muslims and they be runnin around with AKs and cuttin your head off. well not quite like that but if you want a real adventure trek through the south of thailand but don't say you were not warned!:thepirate :thepirate :thepirate |

thats quite a run down. this trip isnt nightlife/music influenced, its more based on food, and, well food. i plan on spending most of my time in vietnam, all over vietnam. i do plan on checking out laos for a couple of days, and if i have time ill try to squeeze thailand in. i guess it just depends on the people that i meet while im there.
im not to in to hookers in the states, yet alone hookers in another country so i dont think ill be spending too much time doing that. if i really wanted to i could just drive 25 mins and goto the bunny ranch/mustang ranch, or some other random 'world famous' brothel. although i am all about banging chicks that are traveling though :] |
