yaar, all joking aside, that's nothing to be proud of! ur getting married soon and your bewee needs you alive!!! :)
The most important lesson I learned from a recent driver training school (taught by former race car drivers) is that the sense of confidence and security you feel from your own driving skills on public roads is 100% false because you're not alone on the road. Anything can happen on public roads, not just from other drivers but from the environment. So you have to always exercise extra caution and give yourself more time to assess every detail: could that 18-wheeler's wheel ever get loose; could a car be coming over the barrier from the opposite direction; could a rock be thrown from the bridge onto my car; there are way too many variables and the only way to minimize the risk of injury is to reduce your speed.
Anyway, that's my big brother rant of the day! :p

Pedestrians and Bicyclest piss me off the most. Pedestrians who just jwalk out right in front without even looking. Its getting more and more common. The other day the left lane on bloor was jammed and the right lane was empty (who knows why) so i came along at about 30 kilcks and some gino walks right out in front. He didnt even look and was walking diagonally away from my car. I honestly nearly smoked him. He came within inches of my bumper. Did i have road rage? Damn straight! Why? Because even if it was this 's fault for getting killed Id still be liable with the ed up laws we have and i take huge offence to that. Thank god for my quick reaction!
Yesterday i was coming off the ramp at spadina and gardiner. There is a section where the sidewalk crosses the ramp with a big yellow sign that says PEDESTRIANS MUST YIELD TO TRAFFIC. So this jackass on a bike looks right at me as i come around the corner and then decides to cross right in front of me forcing me to slam on the brakes. Again I almost hit him and i honk my horn to which he gives me the finger. He then yells "some people shouldnt have a licence. " My response? "Bicyclist should be forced to get licences! BTW driving your bike on a sidewalk is illegal" And to be honest from what i see lately, They should licence bikes.
Bikes especially seem to think that they can do anything they want. And the worst part is that usually if i hit them with my car i am liable under our dumb laws. Bikes routinely fly through red lights, try to squeeze through cars etc. How man times have i almost taken out a bike fromt he side because he decides he wants to fly through the middle lane between cars? Completely illegal.
Im not one for government interference, but at the very least the cops should be throwing the book at bikers that flout the traffic laws. Also the laws the are biased in favour of pedestrians and bikes should be fixed. If some guy wants to take his life into his own hands and die on my bumper i shouldnt be at fault for it unless its actually my fault.
Id hate to see a toronto pedestrian in most parts of the world. Theyd be dead within a day!

Going too slow can be a danger in itself. Something they tend not to tell you but should.

lol he's welcome to! I gave up on road rage shortly after a road trip back from Montreal with an unnamed TA :nervous:
;) :p
well it is nice to know that this unnamed TA can now drive at ease when in a car with you without the fear of being run off a road :p ;)

i get pissy, there are a lot of stupid drivers right now, but aside from letting out some swear words i keep my cool.
my biggest peeve is when you change lanes and the idiot in front hits his brakes for no reason. or what about hte ****** behind you that decides to speed up when you trying to change lanes.

I'll echo the sentiment about cyclists downtown specifically. Seem to have no qualms about sailing along right smack in the middle of the road, all the while ignoring traffic signals and traffic itself. I'm so so tempted to throw open the door for one of these morons - preferably one of the 'tards without a helmet.
Listen small fry, a bicycle is not a motor vehicle. You want to play with the big boys, you'd best make yourself scarce. I am more than willing to share the road, but I do not enjoy being responsible for YOUR safety, so stay the out of my way!
I've also just recently noticed another frequent and incredibly irritating pedestrian behaviour in the downtown core specifically: standing at an intersection for 10 seconds after a light turns green and then deciding to walk. It's crowded, there's heavy traffic, I need to make a right turn, so I patiently wait or inch along for a few seconds until I feel certain that these people (usually a couple, yakking away at each other) are not actually trying to cross the street, and I suppose their one lone collective neuron finally fires at the exact moment they see my car start to move, which is when they decide to walk out directly in front of it.
Now I realize you folks have the right of way, but try to understand that you aren't the lone surviving asshats of a nuclear ing holocaust. There are other people around you, and if you make no indication as to your intentions, then those other people will assume you simply have none and act accordingly.
If you live your entire life being militantly unaware of your surroundings, particularly around heavy machinery, you will probably, eventually, at some point get canned.
