this thread is giving me typing rage.....idiot drivers....learn to drive with the flow of traffic....that is all you have to do.

It doesn't occur to you that the drivers whom people are fed up with are precisely the ones that aren't driving with the flow of traffic?

The traffic "flow" is not whatever the person in front of you or beside you happens to be going. You of all people should know that.

but its both the people who are driving too slow and the ones that have to weave in and out of traffic so they can do their 140 that are the problem.

Uh huh, and what if they weave to do 120? 110? 100?

"Lane of least resistance" is a common defensive driving principle. It's not safe to be behind a traffic obstruction.

I can understand if nobody else is doing the speed you want to do - you don't try to go 140 if there's heavy traffic doing 100-120 in all the lanes - but come on, you don't seriously think that anybody is talking about that, do you?

The subject here is -for-brains chugging at 103 in the left lane of a 4-lane highway with miles of space in front of him and beside, conveniently coasting down to 90 whenever he hits a grade. You can't rationally say that he isn't a much bigger problem than the 50 people honking at him and eventually making inside passes out of desperation.

Of course there are some people who tailgate and weave for no good reason at all, but the number of those I've seen in several years of driving is dwarfed by the number I've seen going inappropriately slow. Practically, minor but likely risks cause more problems than major but highly improbable risks; unfortunately, people seem to be emotionally fixated on the latter.

I find myself weaving at 100 on the 401 when traffic is relatively moderate. Often times you get the conga line of douchebags that seem to want to go 80 or 90 across the whole highway with no one in front of them. Its one thing if there is heavy volume and even then if traffic is moving unobstructed the only reason everyone is going 80 is because some douchebags up front are holding them back!

Ive been up in the air flying with a buddy of mine quite a bit recently and it cant be more apparent how it only takes a few to block so much traffic as it is up there. You can see the patterns so clearly from the air

Just call me darryl dahlmer LOL

I've learned to appreciate life more everytime I see all 3 lanes of the highway blocked by 3 cars going exactly the same speed as each other with no one wanting to accelerate too quickly to waste gas; they're all probably using their cruise controls.

It's about that time I flip on the classical 96.3 on the radio and just pretend I'm floating on a cloud until those ******s decide to smarten up.

until you finally pass one and try to get out of the passing lane only to really that the douchbag decided to speed up to try and unconciously compete with you.

I try to use the passing lane only to pass but sometimes its difficult when people pull that kind of stuff. Often i get impatient and just hammer it until im in front and then move over to clear the lane as required by law

I watched the patterns once from the CN tower, and there had been an accident on one of the highways. What floored me was just how much havoc the rubberneckers caused - not the ones actually driving by the "scene" but the ones going in the opposite direction. There was no obstruction whatsoever in that direction, but there was still this large pocket where traffic came almost to a standstill.

When people see traffic jams, they tend to think that it's somehow due to nothing more than high volume, but it's really amazing how much damage that idiot 5% can do.

UGH.

I fully share jayx1's sentiments on pedestrians. THE WORST. I especially hate how pedestrians create traffic jams because they think they can politely ignore the traffic lights while everyone else waits for them. For example, I'm on green, waiting to turn right, waiting for pedestrians to pass. Not only do the ******s keep walking until it's blatantly ing RED to them, but the pedestrians from the cross direction decide that since their light is ABOUT TO TURN GREEN, they can start walking in front of my car already, so I'm left sitting there without being able to ing turn for the entire duration of the green light. .

Same thing when waiting to turn left. It's green for you, you're patiently waiting to turn left while pedestrians cross. It turns yellow, you think "now is the time I can turn," but no. Some face will run out onto the intersection when it's already yellow, other heads will follow him, and now it's ing red, and I'm stuck in the middle of the intersection. THANKS A LOT RETARDS. And when you move in to let them know that you have to get the out of there before the light turns green in perpendicular directions, these s give you the dirty look like they're supposed to be ing walking on yellow. YOUR WALK SIGNAL ENDED ING 2 MINUTES AGO, WTF ARE YOU STILL DOING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION??!?!?!

GODDAMN.

Another thing that pisses me off is when people speed up when you move in the left lane to pass them. He'll be going 100 in the middle lane, I'm going 120. I switch lanes to pass, and he suddenly remembers that he wants to go 120 too. So now both of us are going 120 next to each other, and to pass him I either need to go 140 and risk getting my car impounded, or hit the brakes to slow down to get behind him again. WTF.

Lastly, did you guys notice that since NO ONE uses turn signals anymore, EVERYONE ignores them now when you do use them? So many times I'll want to switch lanes, so I flip on the turn signal hoping that the driver in the next lane lets off the gas so that I can merge in. Nope, he just completely ignores my blinker and slowly passes by me. Next does same thing. And the next. BUDDY I AM POLITELY LETTING YOU KNOW THAT I WANT TO SWITCH LANES, IS IT THAT MUCH OF A CHALLENGE TO JUST ING LET ME IN???? If I see someone wanting to come into my lane by using their turn signal, I take my foot off the gas and let them in. It's called sharing the ing road.

Of course, there are those retards that turn on their blinker, and then when you slow down to let them in, they forget they wanted to turn, so you keep making more and more space for them, not understanding why they didn't change lanes already. Then end up getting fed up, dropping a gear and going by them while they still have their blinker going, signalling a lane change.
