So today I got an email from Steve Lawler's management team asking for the original footage (if possible) of the HD video I took at Skybar during Viva Toronto so they could host it on his website. As freakin exciting as it sounds, I'm wondering how I can benefit from it and what to ask for.
Anyone with good advice would be nice.
They posted an email of (NAME_REMOVED_BY_ME)@DJSteveLawler.com
I want to make sure http://DJSTEVELAWLER.COM is legit. |

You should've ask for licensing fees, or usage and terms and conditions. Have you ever licensed your production before? You can find some information on the net related to licensing fee and copyright issues. You license the footage, you don't sell it.... Don't give it away for free...
Benefit? You feed your family and yourself with your "art"....
That's my suggestion as a photographer who tries to make living...
good luck |

| I haven't contact them yet... as I'm thinking about the best course of action. This is one reason I never make the video source downloadable in the first place. |

| Here is what i suggest you do. Be proud that they acknowledged the amateur video you took that would have otherwise gone unnoticed save for the few replies you might have received from a few of the nerdier trance addicts, let them use it, and ask for some comps the next time Steve comes to town. Dork. |

ask for $75 and credit and see what they say.
it's just video of some DJ playing at a club. it's not exactly worth much to begin with. |

have you emailed them about that?
also.. it's prob not his management that did that, but rather the label that put the CD out. |
