| I've done my best in the last few weeks to keep the t/l forum clean and i agree there needs to be a captcha verification process which has been suggested to Del. With the current situation though it's impossible for the mods to keep it 100% clean 24 hrs a day. Even if i pick up a load of spam threads an hour after they are posted then i can clean the forum im modding but its impossible to do anything with the others and banning the user is obviously pointless at that point as a prevention method. Hopefully this will be resolved sooner rather than later |

It's an invasion!!!
Seriously, guys, we are trying to do our part but just don't give them the attention they (don't) deserve. As soon as possible, a mod near you will take care of that. |

I think we need a mod who's a "garbage man" with the specific task of coming by for twenty minutes or so once a day and deleting whatever bots have gotten reported.
Or just a better verification process. |

Just glancing through the spam-reporting thread:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...359#post8992359
Clicking through the user names that were reported, I see that since June 23, none of the spam bots have been banned or deleted. Nor does it look like any of their spam posts have been deleted, either.
What's the holdup? |
actually all of these people are always deleted pretty quickly. when you look through the mod logs you have multiple mods banning each of these accounts all the time, the biggest problem is what lucid said...not all mods have modding powers in all the forums so the lesser travelled areas of the site suffer and aren't cleaned up as well... |

That might usually be the case.
I've moderated forums and understand how it can be annoying to go around killing spam bots. But I do wish there were someone with both the ability and the time to do it in a more regular fashion for all of the forums rather than just the well-traveled ones, because some less-popular forums like producer promotion and production still receive plenty of use, and it's quite annoying to have a ton of spam posts crowding out the legitimate ones.
Like I said, it would be good to have someone who's a "garbage man" and has the proper powers to go through once a day and delete the reported bots and their posts. |
