Your water

What does your water smell like? My water here smells very strongly of chlorine. In fact, sometimes I wont even drink it because the smell is so strong it makes me gag. Anyone else get this?
What does it taste like? Despite the fact that my water smell like chlorine, it tastes pretty good. I can taste what I think is minerals, but it isn't bad.
It kinda freaks me out actually. When I can smell the chemicals being used to clean our water, it makes me worry about what I am ingesting, and reminds me of why it is becoming so imperative for them to add so many chemicals to begin with.
That being said, I am not super fantastic at conserving water. Taking long showers is one of my weaknesses. However, I do turn taps off when brushing my teeth, and I make sure that I tightly turn the water off whenever I am done with it.
After going down south and discovering that the tap water is unsafe to drink, but people still wash themselves in it, I was thinking about how valuable that could be.
Why are we cleaning ourselves in water we can drink? We don't HAVE to wash ourselves in drinkable water... it is fine to wash ourselves in relatively clean water that isn't necessarily perfect for drinking. This would help preserve the water that actually is drinkable.
Anyway... thoughts? |

When you're a student living in student housing, that isn't really doable. Besides, it really doesn't make me unhappy... just an observation. |

we have 'hard' water here which means it has a lot of lime in it i think. As a result appliances clog up easier etc. Most kettles now have a filter built in and tbh drinking tap water sucks unless it's chilled, so I usually just fill some bottles up, leave them in the fridge & it's so cold that it actually quenches thirst. Never thought about what it smells like though :eyes:
I love the water from spain for washing in, it's full of so many more minerals and lathers up so well, lovely, but it's not good to drink :toothless |

tap water in general is gross.
I hate asking for water and someone turns on a faucet.
We use a filter to cook at home. Even though NYC has pretty good tap water. |

| I can get down to some tap water. I like it when I can feel my genes alter. |

you can clean yourself in water you cannot drink because certain viral bacterias are only toxic to the human body if ingested.
you are stupid. |
