Just got through with this and I have to say... it's very "you". Which is a good thing, of course! Like, I can't describe it by saying "this has lots of influence from DJ X" or "the soundscapes harken back to DJ Y". The signature sound I expect from you is there - the light, tropical, percussive elements.. the jazz influences, the rhodes and chords. I could do without the spoken word samples in one or two of the tracks but that's just personal preference. Also didn't notice any hitches whatsoever in the mixing.

Favorite songs are the first track, the sax track near the end, and the one at 39 min or so.

When I first heard the song @ around 28 minutes I thought it was gonna break out into Chrono Trigger's Zeal theme ;)

wow is Aqueous Transmission really that unknown?

glad to see the Incubus influences... especially considering 2 of my mixes were named after Incubus songs.

i listened to this at the end of the day yesterday and it was good music to have on in the background while i was working. i need to give it a few more listens before i give it my official review though.

not having a tracklist is rather sly move on your part. listening now.

Maybe my friends and most of the people I've asked about it just happen to be ignorant morans. :p

Hope you enjoyed it. :)

HEYOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!

Thanks for the response, Rob. I listened to this while I cleaned the house today. Very good. I'm loving the last 3 tracks a lot..a lot a lot. Will put this on the 'pod for the plane.

checked this strictly for the artwork, just can't judge a book by its cover 'tho.

got to admit, the programming is nice... but that can only take you so far. there's just no 'ooomph' or 'life' if you know what i mean. feels very flat, like i need to perform cpr on your mix.

let loose, lose control. cliche? yes.

the no tracklist bit is intriguing. but if you're going to explain the out of it, tends to defeat the purpose.

take all this with a grain of salt, im just a house junkie.

thanks for sharing

keep on.

Rob this is in siiiiiick. This music is where its at, wtf is the tune @ 9 mins, I WANT.

Seven towards the end was massive. Sebo K has been killin that one.

Some of the tunes are a bit too much, I'm always more into the subtler side of things, but this is an ace mix. Great ending even though those vocals blow ass. :p

Also, , I really really love listening to sets without a tracklist.

I enjoyed the mix exept for the last track. I know its a closing track but it didnt end too well imo.

"Seven" actually made it in as kind of a bit more direct thank you to Myra. I love the tune, but I'd have not had it if it weren't for her coming home and literally saying "I have to play this song for you, I don't think I could ever play it, but I think you would, and that would be awesome." :haha:

As for the tunes being a bit much, I knew that could be a problem - but hoped that I managed to play them well enough to maintain the more overall chill vibe, and at the very least they were chock full of edits and quick mixing, so nothing for too long (I hope).

Thanks again :)

Thanks Mario - and again, totally understandable. I knew that wouldn't fly for some folks, and have actually been rather surprised at the number of good comments I've gotten on it by comparison. It's easily the biggest reason I described the set as "self-indulgent", because if it weren't patently obvious before, when you hear that track my guess you'll respond either like "Jesus, what the mindless is RJT on about here?" or "Hmmmmm.... welll, I dunno.... well.... wait, yup.... yeah I like it."

I haven't gotten nearly as many insults as I thought I might for it :p

Missed this before - thanks m8. Thoughts are much appreciated and any time someone tells me I manage to sound unique it makes me feel like I'm at least making some progress on one of my highest goals as a DJ.

So many guys out there right now are trying to prove they can DJ by selling records and producing - I guess I just want to be known as a DJ first, and whatever else - producer, asshole, etc. - second.

Anyways, thank you (and everyone else who's given it a go) again for taking the time to listen. :)

Got up through 31 minutes and it ended... the download must've not completed. I really liked what was happening at that point in the set. Re-downloading. :)
