Started playing this last night. I have never played a Fallout before and knew nothing about them prior to playing Fallout 3. Starting off as a baby and growing older... A unique and strange start, but its very different and I'm liking it. I'm 16 now and hopefully the action will start soon. The RPG elements seem cool but its all very new to me. The graphics look amazing. I have everything cranked running at 1920x1200. I haven't turned on any AA yet but I think I will try. I'm running 2 8800GTs in SLI. Will play more this weekend.

Not sure how that compares to a Radeon 4850 but I think you should be able to turn up the AA. I'm running 1920x1200 with everything maxed with AA turned up all the way.

I think this is just one of those games you have to play to understand. It is the best game I have played since Fallout 2.

If it's durable, I'm telling you guys right now that will be my alarm clock for the rest of my life.

sorry to disappoint you....

The only difference between the Collector's Edition and the Survival Edition is this Pip-Boy 3000 clock, yet it costs $40 more. The clock is shaped like a Pip-Boy and has hinges so that you can strap it onto your arm, but it doesn't fit comfortably and slides around. The box says it is not intended to be worn.

The clock also comes with a stand to hold the cylindrical shape in place for you. It's all made out of very cheap plastic. The stand broke while I was trying to put it together. The clock doesn't do anything more than tell time -- you can't even use it as an alarm. For so much extra money, we had hoped for some quality memorabilia. The box it comes in has an "Inspected by 13 for Vault Deployment" logo on it. Number 13 failed. This is a disappointment.

I think Fallout 1 and 2 were games ahead of their time in terms of story and game play. You basically had numerous ways to go through the game.

You could either build your skills in speech and bartering and talk your way through the game (speech skills lets you convince people to see your way). You could build up combat skills and just kill everyone to get through the game. You could build your lock picking/sneaking/stealing skills to sneak through the game. Or just a balance of everything, whatever you truly wish to role play as (if I remember, if you had a female character, you could even prostitute yourself through certain parts of the game). Really no matter what route you take, good or bad, can still progress through the entire game and everything gives you different consequences.

I think all of that, on top of the great story made them great games.

This game is ing awesome. I've just been picking stats and perks that suit my own personality without thinking about making my character super powerful.

A worthy sequel to the Fallout series.
