an event organizer who is smart wouldn't announce it until right aruond monster massive or shortly after to maximize ticket sales for both events.
it's marketing basics (working on my mba in marketing right now....via online courses. go internet!)

back to my lurking status...maybe. i will see if my wife knows anything else when both of us get home from work.

Hummm... you don't even know if she's your wife or your girlfriend :conf: and you don't want to be offered hugs? Hugs are good for you and can help you NOT feel so old cuz 31 is pretty damn old! :rolleyes: |

LA on NY should not be about just one Dj = BORING.
I'd rather see a diverse line up. There are tons of Djs that I'd like to see on Giant/TAO lineups other than the ones that Armin would pick (ie. ones designed to make him look good).
Not good news for the punters IMO. |

| I agree that one dj only is boring. What makes armin only bad ass is all the guest appearances and live factor to it. I mean every song almost from the armin only show had a live aspect to it, be it live vocals or live keys. Just having armin spin is bull money saving on TAO's part and simply calling it armin only. |

First, if what he says is the case, I look forward to see how everything is setup. In mass-market popularity, Armin is no Tiesto yet and Tiesto didn't fill the place up that well the first time he did a Tiesto in Concert there. So I worry about Armin filling up the main arena himself (until his names gets more mass-market known...it'll happen in time, just isn't to that point eyt). Especially with the economy and it getting close to the date kinda. Let's money for people to spend, and plane ticket prices are prob only gonna keep going up...for the out of towners. Maybe they have some clever idea. Maybe they don't. Either way, while I worry about the ability to fill up the place if it's in the main arena, I hope everything goes off without a hitch. For Armin's sake!
Now my response to the quote above...lol, I went to Monster Massive last in 2006 (or maybe it was last year. Out of the country and haven't slept since the few hours I got Sunday morning, ao my life is a bit of a blur right now) and I felt like a grandpa in there! Then I saw two kids get in a fist fight right next to the gate surrounding the staging aera, becasue one of them wouldn't give the other his beads back. I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS. Both of them got bloodied and stuff, but it was funny because they got mostly bloody because they were so screwed up they falling over trying to throw punches and cutting themselves was pushing each other on the gate while scuffling on the ground. Over a stupid beat bracelet.
I was in shock at the time because their argument over beads turn into a first fight and then that fight last a few good few minutes before security finally started coming out of the shadows. It was the slowest reaction to anything ever.
I remember the first time I went to Monster Massive in 2003, I kept getting asked if I "wanted to enter a whole new realm" At least 10 times during the night! Thankfully I was super drunk and never got aggro during the time, but looking back I wish I would have punched every one of them. Do your thing, whatever it is. I have no problem with it personally...as long as you know how to keep things under control Don't bring the effects of it onto me as it's only a burden and f'n annoying. If I would have been asked if I wanted a hug, I would have flipped out right away I think, lol. But no, just the realm question. Michelle was asked if she wanted a hug a bunch if I remember correctly...dunno for sure, because I was drrizzunnk. It was my first date with Michelle, I WAS NERVOUS! lol. I don't mind being hugged...by someone I know.
Funny part about all this....trying to go to Monster Massive this year....mainly just for Markus. Michelle wants to see him since she hasn't in awhile and he's easily her favorite DJ. And I would love to see him of course, and my long time friend Tim, who works with Markus in Miami now, is finally heading out here for an event, with Markus' wife (Heather) and his soon. I still haven't met Heather in person...and have never partied with my friend Tim. He was like 14 when I met him and I was like 19 or something.....and we lived in diff states than we both do now...time to show him how a real man drinks, bwhahahaha. :) |

| I could disclose marketing techniques used by LA's biggest promoters, but I would never do that. Let's just say that good promoters don't give you all the goods at once. And LA's biggest promoters are good ones. So just have a little patience guys ;) Excitement needs to be constucted. |
