true. i guess for me it comes down to if we're able to enjoy the party (good view) while staying in VIP the whole time. if anyone has pics of the main stage from the VIP area last year, please send my way. this would be a deal-killer for me if i had to leave VIP to go use the same restrooms as tens of thousands of others.

A big thing for me in VIP is having a sound setup dedicated in VIP with an area to dance...and the music is loud around that area. Love how the events up here at Bill Graham have done that for the past few years.

Maybe they do it down in LA now, but when I went last in 2006, there was no extra sound...so if I decided to listen from the side along the gate behind the main speakers, the sound sucked...cause I was just hearing it echo off the walls of the arena.

if i remember right, the VIP is on the side and behind the stage

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't limit VIP access to only 21+. How would you limit ticket presales to only 21+ at an all ages event? They'll most likely just have the 21+ wristbands in order to get drinks like they usually do there. And yes, I've seen E-puddles in VIP as well...

I think thats the case with VIP 21+ would get you access to the bar/drinks. but anyone underage could get VIP tickets but NO access to alcohol.

Anyone else have any experiences with VIP last year? Good views? Separate restrooms? No e-puddles hopefully? :)

Nightmare! 45 minutes in line to get in, mosh pit lines for half an hour to get a drink (that couldn't be carried out of the VIP area), cheap vodka after the Belvedere ran out since VIP was way oversold, people tipping the bartenders $20 so that they could chug and then get back behind their friends to order another one-per-person drink...

Then once I finally got out of the VIP area, fire marshalls killed the music. Was a NYE to forget!

Now the year BEFORE that was great...no line at all to get in, individual VIP areas in each tent stocked with premium vodka, never waited more than 5 mins for a drink, and they would let you carry one drink anywhere you wanted.

The DJ's were phenomenal too...Sasha & Digweed, Ferry, Armin and many more. Only downside was that the restoom lines sucked, even in VIP.

I bought VIP tix for 2008 NYE based on the 2007 NYE experience and was REALLY disappointed along with thousands of others. What changed so much in a year? Different promoter maybe?

More importantly, did the promoters learn anything from NYE 2008, or will it be another cattle yard this time around too? :conf:

Yeah...Giant NYE 2008 was the WORST hands down VIP experience. There were so many people walking around with out VIP wrist bands. It was a crash grab for all the bouncers.

However, some of the best VIP's I have been to are the events that are all ages. Nocturnal 2007 was the best and Tiesto at the sports area was a close 2nd. If the event will be at the Sports Arena I would shell out the cash as I have never had an over crowding or line problem that I have had at some of the other events. There are some occasional people that get by the VIP with a small cash donation but nothing like the Giant NYE events. Never had to wait for a bathroom.

The view and sound are not exactly the best but it gives you a breather spot to chill from the masses. There are lots of steps in the back to sit on. Well worth it in my book.

That sounds exactly like Giant's NYE last year. Such a nightmare. So basically any VIP at an LA NYE massive is a joke, eh?

edit: oh, were you talking about Giant or TAO? I was at Giant too, so yeah, I know what a mess that was. I was asking about TAO VIP last year if anyone can chime in with their experiences. Thx.
