Armin is nowhere as nearly popular as Tiesto. I also doubt he can carry a venue that size on his own, people just aren't that fanatical about him. With the economy the way it is, people will want value for money if they are going to fork out for high ticket prices. That means Djs that are popular in Socal, not just Armin and the DJs he chooses to make him look good. Give me value for money and I will buy a ticket. But I will not go to Armin Only. No way.

If Armin = TAO, then I'm going to Giant.

Armin is not as popular as Tiesto is because fake electronica fans ONLY listen to TIESTO, they know NO OTHER DJ's .. But NOT accounting for the fake listeners, Id advise you to check last YEARS DJ poll vote so you can choke on your words.. (might win it this year too)

Im assuming you've never seen videos of his other ARMIN ONLY's, but trust me, the guy can preform like no1 else..

You might as well save up your money and go hang out 17 year olds at a tiesto event who think that LIL WAYNE IS GOD.. now that i've put you in your place.. never talk about matters you obviously know NOTHING about

You are using last year's DJ poll on whether if Armin is as popular as Tiesto in attracting crowds?

Wow.

Not even gonna go beyond that. Not worth it.

Don't get me wrong, I love Armin. He has been far more solid than Tiesto that last few years (though he doesn't touch Tiesto when he was in his prime) and yeah, ranked #1 in DJMag. But that isn't an indication of which DJ would have an easier time attracting an audience on his own. Maybe in some countries, but not this one. If he keeps going, in another two years I'd say he will....because his name is just now starting to spread to the mass market and not just known within the clubbing crowd circuit.

And we all know Armin is a great performer. His crowd interaction is surely one of things that helped him get to #1. But that doesn't necessarily sell a lot of tickets on its own.

So, understand the scene. Who attracts crowd. How things have gone in the past...etc before you talk.

Buddy relax... Armin is good and the event will be good but Tiesto is Tiesto there isnt a dj on the planet that can get more people to attend than Tiesto. Same Lil Wayne people that go to Tiesto go to Armin

Contrary to other opinions, I am excited for this! I prefer going to Sports Arena on NYE as opposed to an over-crowded tent in downtown LA where the fire department comes in to shut things down until more people leave the tent. Also, the number of bars and bathrooms in the SA seem to make it much faster to get through the lines as opposed to standing in line at the VIP bar for over one hour for a drink and 300 minutes to use the restroom. I'm hoping that these few things give us more time to enjoy the show. I love Armin, can't wait to see him again and I am looking forward to an Armin Only event as the last one in downtown on July 14, 2007 was amazing IMO. What great news to wake up to :) :) YAY!!!!

as was stated, Tiesto is Tiesto...no one can touch that.u really cant even compare to 2 in my opinion......Armin is nice, and i will probably come to LA for this event......simply because NYC doesnt seem like a place i want to be on NYE

I'm really not comparing DJ's but rather venues. I saw Tiesto at NYE 2008 and also at the Sports Arena in Summer 2007 and Tiesto at the SA was a million times better for me due to drink lines, bathroom lines, and space. I don't care for the young TAO crowd but when getting VIP tickets, the epuddles and all of that don't ever seem to be an issue. JMO :)
