whoever is saying he broke the law you guys are retarded
he didn't actually park there for hours to deserve a 300 buck fine. Parking fines have increased recently by almost double. While what he did is wrong it's still not worth 300 bucks |

i got the same handicap parking ticket a few years ago here in markham when i went to the post office. same $300 fine too.
i took the ticket to the Town Of Markham to pay it and the girl decided to drop it to $150. i dunno what compelled her to do it but i wanted to take her out for dinner afterwards. |

for hours? he shouldnt be in that parking spot at all, period. it has nothing to do with a time frame. the $300 fine just goes to show that they take handicap parking infractions seriously. stop thinking like a dumb gino. lol. |

I am accountable. But I'm not accountable for a $300 fine. There are families out there living payday by payday, and 300 would set them back a few weeks. I don't want to give someone a $9000/hr salary for 2 minutes worth of work. |
dont park in the handicap spot if you cant afford it. you are accountable for whatever fine they decide to slap on you whether it is $5 or $10,000.
imagine a murderer saying in court "i am accountable for first degree murder but im not accountable for life in prison." that! if you do the crime then you do the time. |

It seems if you own up to your actions, sometimes people are willing to let you off the hook a little bit.
I parked on a street in Toronto where you couldn't park past 10pm or something. I totally didn't even realize it b/c when I went to pay for a meter thing it said you only have to pay until 10pm. I failed to see the sign that said you can't park there without a residential permit after 10pm though.
I got a ticket at 11pm and then another one at 12:05am. I was so annoyed, but I screwed up b/c the sign was there. The parking ticket place was really nice though and took one of the tickets away b/c they thought it was a bit unfair I guess.

the moral of the story is that its always a safer bet to park in the fire route ( pull up right in front of the store) ... its only a 100$ doller ticket :)

Just be accountable for what you did, end of story. Everyone's always looking for a way to "get out" of things. Shameful, really. |

They cancelled the second ticket because they're not allowed to issue more than one for the same infraction. So when you get a parking ticket, you can leave your car there for as much as 24 hours without the risk of being nailed again.
When parking tickets were $20, I would just park illegally and leave the car there all day, it ended up being cheaper than actually paying for parking. |
