This isn't exactly right. FIOS is their name for Fiber to the premises/home. It carries ALL services, not just TV.

Cable service constantly goes down.

Such bull for most large metro areas. Maybe rural areas or FL not true, but I know from experience that the providers I have been on (TimeWarner, Adelphia, Cox, Comcast, and Starstream [a local company up in northern california]) that I have NEVER experienced lots of down time. Only once do I remember while I have been in Southern California.

Good god, we must be always EXACTLY right in the C0R. Technically it's not wrong either since TV encompasses Fios. Why would u even make a stupid post to point this out? As for cable, I'm sure your vast knowledge on all areas of the United States is the same as your personal experience. The technology is and outdated compared to the technology offered by other providers.

Yeah ok. Sure. If you knew what you were even talking about, you really wouldn't say it was old and out dated. You should learn about the technology behind it before calling it old and outdated. All the tech used is relatively new. If you want to say that 2-3 years old, is "outdated" then Satellite is too.

I think ATT U-Verse is fiber optics. Their quality was pretty compared to my Dish, so I switched back. I did keep ATT's internet service though.

Was the quality of the video or was it the quality of the service itself? I have yet to see this service, and am quite curious.

It didn't make sense to me either. My line can do 26mbps yet the quality of the HD was very grainy compared to Dish Network. It was easily noticeable. Also I would get glitches to my broadcast, more so than Dish. After two months I went back to Dish.

Also the channel selection interface was VERY poor. There is a slight delay flipping channels. A very annoying issue for a constant channel flipper. The fonts and channels were too big and there was no way to filter out channels.

The good thing about ATT U-Verse is there is ZERO contracts and the first month was free. If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself.

Wow that is pretty bad considering they are touting it as "the future" of their services.

U-Verse is all fiber optic.

The quality of the video shouldn't have been that bad, though I have heard a lot of 'meh' things about it.

The boxes, though, are horrendous. People bitch about DirecTV's DVRs compared to TiVo, but the U-Verse ones are awful. I have DirecTV & don't see a problem with it, but those AT&T ones are a pain in the ass (at least the three I've had to setup were). They're made by Motorola--not sure what that has to do with it if anything.

Some of the Motorola boxes blow. And hard. The one that most cable companies use for non-hd setups (DCT-2000) is a piece of . ALWAYS try to get a DCT-2500 or DCT-1800 if you can. They support all the same features (The 2500 actually has more video outputs than the 2000. The 1800 doesn't have any front controls) and they are MUCH faster than the 2000.
