Its a popular pseudo-science movie with "credible" scientists telling you that you basically have the power to change your DNA and water has emotions amongst other crap.

quote:
What the Bleep Do We Know!? (also written What tнe #$*! Dө ωΣ (k)πow!? and What the #$*! Do We Know!?) is a 2004 film which combines documentary-style interviews, computer-animated graphics, and a narrative that posits a spiritual connection between quantum physics and consciousness. The plot follows the story of a deaf female photographer; as she encounters emotional and existential obstacles in her life, she comes to consider the idea that individual and group consciousness can influence the material world. Her experiences are offered by the filmmakers as an illustration of the movie's thesis about quantum physics and consciousness. The 2004 cinematic release of the film was followed by a substantially changed, extended DVD version in 2006.

Not really connected to Zeitgeist, only on the same sort of intellectual level. It just reminded me of it....

Anyway, I'm with the general consensus that this is a idea.

We are talking about a very very small minority of sick people that want to perve on kids (anorexic kids in philbys case).

I don't think child pornography is found easily anyway? Wouldn't it all be done on private FTP and P2P networks etc?

The point being, people that want to look at that know how to use a computer, they know how to get around filters etc.

The rest of us then have to suffer, with the KRudd government thinking they are protecting us.

Whats next? Thats the worry.

No, what's next is the whole point.
Freedom is bad. Control is good. (From a govt perspective).

i think that's a grossly over-simplified sentiment. government's enact an ideology through policy and compromise in the house(s). if you look at the history of western liberalism, there's an awful lot of examples of government's attempting to 'free up' their people.

as ed up as this policy is, i dont think it has malicious overtones. its just an example of government's attempt to do the right thing, just in a stupid and inevitably useless way.

where does it end?
like all good government things, they'll slowly just beef it up and tighten it over the years.
for now, it's "think of the children!", how far will that go?

how many things have they brought in over time against the "war on terrorism"?
pkcRAISTLIN
:stongue: :stongue: brilliant.

i still dont see how that is at odds with what i wrote though.

which "things" do you mean in particular?

policy and laws are in a state of flux. to argue that they are constantly heading in the one direction ignores an awful lot of evidence to the contrary.
