I'll give this a shot.
I did my own research and so far only the right wing blogs have picked up on this. Obama only made mention of this in a July 2nd speech in CO and, to my knowledge, hasn't mentioned it again in the Presidential campaign trail. The sites that do report on it are all bias sites who site The Obama Nation author Jerome Corsi as a reputable source. Obviously, that puts their objective credibility in question.
I'm sorry people around your area doesn't know there is more than two parties, but where I come from, they certainly do. I acknowledge there are certainly many questions worth asking Obama about his comments, but was it worth you coming out of the wood work after months of silience to accuse me and other voters of not doing their homework? I'm glad you are smart enough to think independently but also dissapointed, you're not smart enough to explain the topic without sounding like an elitist bitch.
EDIT:

But spokesman Tommy Vietor said Obama was referring in the speech to a proposal for a civilian reserve corps that could handle postwar reconstruction efforts such as rebuilding infrastructure — an idea endorsed by the Bush administration.

There is still questions to be asked, but I'm not going to cry the sky is falling just yet. |

Let's see...
So far, you've come up with unsourced claims that Obama is going to turn the US into a Gulag ran by his secret Executive civilian task force. A speech he gave back in July indicates that he has national security objectives he would like accomplished by a civilian force, not a military one. Perhaps these objectives consist of cleaning up roadsides or ensuring projects such as habitat for humanity have as many helping hands as possible. Perhaps Obama would like to reclaim the term 'national security' by re-associating it with grassroots programs rather than the private security, citizen-tabs fascism that the soon-to-be-previous administration has imprinted upon us as 'national security'. Who knows? Speculation goes both way. And I think I have just as much evidence for my inclinations as you do at this point.
You've also accused Obama of voter fraud, apparently. Unless you meant that there was fraud on both sides or something? Again, I don't see any evidence behind your accusations... yet you're still insistent that there's something wrong here.
Further, you've accused not only everyone who has voted for Obama, but everyone who voted at all, of being ignorant. That's obviously an opinion, so there is little burden of evidence, but what, pray tell, has lead you to believe this? Because your favourite independent party of choice did not get elected? Most people who I know who voted are completely aware that there are several parties running during each and every election. Through radically disagreeable policy or piss-poor advertising though, they aren't elected. There are numerous reasons why we are locked into a bi-party government, but I doubt mere voter ignorance is a prevalent one, nor should voters even be blamed - where are the independent parties in getting the word out? Oh yeah, people are just too dumb to listen to what's best for them, hurr hurr. |
I have not ACCUSED Obama of anything and I'm certainly not claiming to know anything. Since when is a question an accusation? I already stated my thoughts earlier in this thread, but once again it would appear as though you haven't read this entire thread.
I have valid concerns and they don't stop at this topic. I commend you for trusting your new president-elect without knowing too much about him. I can't say the same and I make no apologies for that.
You're the one accusing me of stuff. I made a comment about voter fraud because it is a FACT. I didn't mention a candidate but that's interesting that you interpreted it that way.
I did not call everyone that voted for Obama ignorant. Don't put words in my mouth. I had people tell me that they had no clue that they could vote in the primary elections. I even spoke to people that didn't know we had primary elections. If one more person says they chose the lesser of two evils I will scream. The lesser of two evils is still an evil. |

Elitist bitch? If someone says they are a conservative on this forum they are attacked. Not smart? I was NEVER trying to defend my question. Please quote me on where I tried to prove to you people that yes in fact he was starting a civilian army. In my first post I quoted other people to show that I wasn't the only one that listened to that speech and found it a bit alarming. I never said it was a fact and I challenge you to quote me on that. I have listened to many of his speeches and this is not the first issue that I've had with him. However, this was an issue that I was uncertain about and I stated that more than once.
Have you even read his book? |

| So you saw his speech in July and just got around to asking questions about it? I'm going to have to accuse you of being a slowpoke. |

I found more from that speech he gave. I hope this means he's just asking people to join the Foreign Service and the Peace Corps as a volunteer. |
Yep, I sure sound like I'm adamantly trying to prove a point here. And here I thought I posted that to show that I agree that people might be taking it out of context. |

I saw it in September and I spoke to other people about it because I saw how one track minded some people are on this forum. You would be amazed the fear of backlash some of us have had. Had I thought people could have an open discussion I might have reconsidered. After I saw how people were attacking Melly (I posted in that thread) I decided what the hell...I should be able to speak my mind too. So I am. |

It took awhile for the video to circulate to her.
List of accusations:

I do know he likes to make up stories about his family.

I think people were just too ignorant to know that. I'm convinced of that.

There was so much voter fraud going on in our country that it's almost laughable.

| quote: | | Have you even read his book? | Yes. Both of them. Would you like to borrow? |

Also if you want a serious discussion without COR commentary, we have a political discussion forum. There you will find like minded individuals who would gladly lend you support. |

I take it that you believe the tales he told of his family. History doesn't lie.
As for the video...apparently it took much longer to circulate to the rest of you since no one knew what I was talking about. |

Once again, I did not accuse Obama.
Did you sleep through this election? No voter fraud? |
