Ya, I didn't mean to be so harsh (man I must have been in a bad mood earlier), but I think there's just a glut of MBA's at the moment, and so I think it really limited their marketability. From what I see, it's the Communications major of graduate degrees :(

Some accredited engineer programs at selected colleges recently started a 4 and 1 program where you can get an MBA in one year of graduate school. I think you would need to apply junior year because they also mix in a couple of MBA classes your senior year with that extra year.

Personally, graduate school is not as difficult unless you work full time. You can only do your school work and study after work and you have limited access to your professor for help.

I wish graduate school was like one of those "conitnuing education" classes where you do for 4 hours and thats it. Instead for ME its minimum two years and Undergraduate was just a warm-up for the hardest stuff I ever did and then some.

But to you guys above, mel & phoenix bebe - that sounds like your school is nuts with the pre-nursing courses... My program is really hard to get into, but for nursing classes you have to maintain an 80 in everything, which is kinda intense, most other colleges are 76s - Either way I try to get As but youll come to find that nursing multiple choice questions... every option is correct!!... and you need to pick the "most" correct one, its the most annoying thing... Are you guys PCAs? (nurse assistants) - if not I would reccomend it, it helps soo soo much, and yes you do a lot of dirty work like wash up little old ladies (and not so little old ladies) but its a huge help. If you ever have ANY questions or need to vent, seriously Im here, trust me i know!! :)

nursing student and I don't graduate till May '10.

Good luck with your pre-nursing courses, Lyss. I know it's tough, but you're smart and you'll get into the program.

Elyyse: The passing grade for my school is 78, but students need to meet with the the professor if they score lower than an 82 to discuss a 'plan of action' to improve on following exams. They make us sign it. Everything is a contract - starting with our syllabus.
You don't want to just pass because ultimately, you won't pass the NCLEX with the 'just passing' grade. Those days of studying on the night before the exam are long gone. I try to weed out options by process of elimination, but they're ALL right! Can't I just add in my own choice? E) All of the above...? hahaa
I agree that it really helps being a PCA or a CNA. Most of the students in my class are CNAs and it really helps them during clinicals. I was so anxious on my first day of clinicals because I never had any type of hospital experience before.
How did you survive nursing school? I have two careplans due on Thurs and I haven't started. I'm done and I can't wait till the semester is over. I need a life!!!

Aww hey girl! May '10- not TOO far, you can do it! Yea, gotta love the "contracts" in school oh my gosh, right... Yea we have a syllabus contract and all that.. not for individual tests though, thats probably a good idea I must say.

How did I survive... Well.. good question, I have no damn idea, besides well.. TRANCE! (legit, i already explained my love affair above in this thread.. haha...)

-Well actually, one good piece of advice to anyone is this : Personally, i dont get done at my house .. i MUST be in a library, its just the atmosphere, not being in my Pjs in a blanket at my house... So what I did for the first 3 years was legit - go to the library EVERY week day. Two of my friends and I committed to this - without calling or arranging plans, we just simply met at this one table at the library every.. single... night... it was so much easier just having someone else there to share the pain to.. but it helps you focus and stay on task. Also, I used to work on Friday nights, bc I hate studying friday nights anyways, so i would just work to use the time effectively.

However though, This year, i am boycotting the library because I am at the end of my ropes, So my productivity is way done but my grade are fine. Granted Bs not As as usual, but i am in Community Health & Psych this semester, and IMO I just care about my med surg grades being super high as that is the grunt of hospital nursing, u know. If your in med surg now, just rock it out as best you can, thats the time to apply your self the hardesssttt.

Also, shutting out MEN in general from my life from 3 years was also a pretty good method to keep out distractions... yet i let that guard down now too..... hahah PM me or IM me if you wanna know any more :)
