That was a joke, son. It was clearly stated in the thread. I'm not pissed because she's sleeping around. She is not sleeping around. I've been enlightened by some events that have just occurred (NOT sleeping around).

Serious:
If she said it she may have fully meant it at the time. I was going out with a girl for almost 7 years and for a vast majority of that thought it was soul mate awesomeness. Now...well, it's different and I'm not going to be hearing anymore "you're the one" from her any time soon! Things change, you can't expect that sort of stuff to last forever in it's current form because people evolve.
Instead, look at WHAT changed. Lifestyles, moral compass, jobs, friends, social life? something must be different for things to change, and you'll most likely find it isn't solely not your fault.

I found out that the relationship wasn't what it appeared to be on the surface. There was a whole web of lies and deceit. The very foundation of our relationship is a lie. Think about that for a second. Imagine loving someone and building a foundation of cherished memories with this person only to discover that you were being taken for a ride the entire time, like a naive child. This was way worse than cheating. You can work with cheating, you can reconcile with it and come to understand why it happened and fix it. You cannot repair something like this, it's too much. Our entire relationship was an illusion and she was the illusionist.
How could someone act so convincingly about something so deep? There's no way I could ever believe in true love again. This is ing unreal. I'm not even hurt, just dumbfounded... confused... bewildered.
This has got to be the greatest trick anyone has ever pulled on me. |
