College tuition (pg. 8)

I interned, worked, and doubled my school workload (don't do it, worst idea ever) so it is possible. The career centers can help or get a costumer service job that allows you to work around your schedule while still making an OK paycheque.

depends on if you have to pay for housing and living costs out of pocket also, assuming that you do.. it sucks but it's gotta be done. part time won't cut it, and neither will making any less than $15 per hour @ 40 hours imo, to live comfortably.

so what i'm trying to say is, if you have to pay for everything and you don't have any credit, job experience, or skills, you're ed. get good grades.

edit: ^5 frenchie for us responsible kids

It will be hard for students to find jobs in this economy, maybe.

good ol' student loans. whatever the gov't didn't pay for my rotc scholarship, i loaned the rest (Cause the other part of the gov't said i didn't deserve grants, because i was getting a scholarship...kinda BS in my book, but whatever)

and now i have $27k in student loans...that i've been paying for 2 years now...and still have $25k in student loans...:(

2000$ in 2 years? Wtf crap. You're going to be paying those forever.

yeah, its a 20 year repayment plan...the first couple of years the repayment per month is lower...cause they figure you can't get a good paying job...then it goes up after that.

i've been paying a little more per month, but its still a lot.

no regrets tho...i would do it all over again the same way. college was great.

How hard is it to manage a job, or find one for that matter, that is enough to pay for collage while attending school? I'm really doubting I'll get any scholarship as I'm an average student with mostly C's at the moment and I really don't want to get a loan as I've heard stories as well. Plus there is no way in hell my parents can possibly help me out.

I worked while I went to school and I had plenty of friends that worked while they were in school, most of which supported themselves (paid for school, rent, car, food, etc). I, however, still lived at home and everything was paid for (school included) and the jobs I had were in pay but easy to work around a changing school schedule. Plus you can crank out more work during the semester/holiday breaks.

It's gonna be tough paying for a university working part time right out of high school.

edit // Will's a good example as to why you shouldn't join the army for college. Btw Woty, it's college not collage :p

I always seem to spell it wrong. :p

edit: I am completely up for the challenge, I just needed to make sure it's possible asking some more experienced heads. I'm a pretty lazy kid now, smart but lazy, but I think I can do it. I'm only on my junior year in high school so maybe I can rack up some cash before it's all over with, plus a $500 scholarship that I have in the bank from elementary school, which should get me a couple of books. Hopefully as soon I get in there I start to become more aware and wake up a bit so I think it's important for me to push myself and pay for it myself.

Bom, a gente costuma ter problema com o "e" e o "a" em inglês.

Tipo, "bed" e "bad". Não é difícil isso se estender pra outras palavras, mesmo quando elas não têm a pronúncia parecida :p
