Mine isn't directly music related, but it will definitely help my music.
This past year a serious WoW addiction cut into my music time a lot. Thankfully I was able to quit that a few months ago, but to make up time, my goal is to not play a single non-social video game for all of 2009. Meaning no game where I'm not playing with someone else in the same room.
I haven't played any non-social video games since a month after I quit WoW, so I think I can do it. I'd ing better do it since I just spent $2,000 on studio monitoring. :haha: |
Kudos. |

By 2010 I want:
-to DJ in 3 countries (that's pretty much already lined up so I'm not worried but nonetheless)
-at least one track on a commercial compilation
-at least one vinyl release
-to work with at least 5 other producers
I think it's fairly realistic. Alot of work ahead of me :) |

About time for me to post in this, great thread not only to see what other people are doing, but to get me working on my own goals.
1. Practice guitar and keyboard skills whether daily, whether or not it is for five minutes or twenty hours.
2. Put my ideas in effect. I lots of times get cool ideas for effects, synth patches, arrangement, and sometimes melodies. I always end up forgetting then or just not trying them out because they would be too much work.
3. Learn another synth (one that isn't v-station :D) I would like it to be one with lots of modulation capabilities, and with different types of synthesis (not subtractive). Also, i want to really learn the other couple of subtractive synths i have inside out like i feel i know v-station
4. Try out the massive pile of freeware i am yet to try and see if i like. I am not to keen on the onboard fl effects othern than peak controller.
5. Learn music theory. This kind of goes along with number one.
6. Find a decent freeware tb-303 emulation, i have tried a few and squeek box was sadly the best since it was a piece of .
Edit: forgot about rebirth. Goal accomplished.
7. Effectively make the switch over to ableton. Not that fl sucks, just i like ableton more and the effects are much better as well as rewiring.
8. My final goal is indirectly music related, but get a job so i can blow my paychecks on hardware. :p |

2009 will be the first year since 03/04 or so that I won't be incredibly distracted with either my career or a girlfriend. As such, I want to actually finish the dozen or so tracks I've been cooking up over the years since my last release. |

My only goal next year is to do something.
Lately I just feel like I've lost it. I can't seem to be able to do anything. Not even short clips. Nothing comes out.
There's also this album project I've been planning for years... it'd better materialise soon or I might lose my mind. |

I just finished a period just like that. No productivity for 18months. :(. I finished about 3 tracks in the last 6 weeks or so though (and teh 4th is coming along nicely). Inspiration will probably get back to you. |

Stop playing guitar when I should be working on production. And practice my chops on the keys. I currently have no chops. =( |
