Wow that's ridiculous!! I'm curious to find out what his motive was at 3am...maybe not letting him in cuz they were closing or something?!?! wtf... |
Million dollar says it was personal ... highly doubt his description fits the profile of the typical Hotel crowd ... or maybe the bouncer was just a dick :-) lol, and got what he deserved, God acts in mysterious ways. |

i know the bouncer personally and he is far from being a dick. i think hotel's security team is very friendly compared to the security at many of the other venues in toronto.
and for you to even think someone deserves to be shot for "being a dick" would make you a total dick and you should be shot for it as well. like you said, God acts in mysterious ways. |

Also, what happens if a security guard is patting someone down and then feels a gun??? Its not just like they can just say 'excuse me sir, you can't come in since you have a likely loaded illegal handgun on you'. I would probably be scared less if I felt a gun and would probably just pretend I didn't feel it... let the guy in anyways and then call the cops so they can come in and arrest him. |
There was a really interesting thread on tribe a few years ago about this, and one guy who had bounced at many ent district clubs (including ones where electronic events are sometimes held) said there are usually guns in clubs for the reason that it would be riskier to refuse them entry than to let them in with them. I'm paraphrasing, but I thought it was alarming. |

Let's not get personal Jason, it's better that way ... i like your pictures :-)
I was not being serious myself either, i don't believe someone should get shot for being a dick, but i do believe some bouncer's power trip, abuse the power given to them, and look for trouble ... and every once in awhile ... they find it. I don't know the details about the shooting, but since you know the bouncer personally, why do you think he got shot? |

I think the point he was trying to make is that in the eyes of the person that shot him...he got what he deserved. |

My comment was a bit too harsh, i agree ... the point i was trying to make is that things are never black and white, and there's probably more to the story ... but regardless to what the reason was, the bouncer shouldn't have gotten shot, and it's fkt up that these things happen in public places, where people should go out to have fun ... and nothing more.
Props to the bouncer for going back to work already. I hope they catch the shooter soon. |

it really doesnt matter what happened. nobody deserves to get shot unless they shot someone too. an eye for an eye. |

exactly. there is no reason good enough for one person to shoot another person. ive seen the way this bouncer handles situations and he is professional and courteous. |
