These days, I'd say bouncing in the ent district is one of the more risky jobs in the city, aside from being a police officer in the entertainment district (although they have their own weapons and backup). Patrons are demanding and often intoxicated, and there's already a bit of a wall between the door staff and the people trying to get in that tends to lead both sides to cop attitudes at the first sign of a dispute.

agreed. ive seen a few bouncers wearing kevlar too.

On a different note, outside this Hotel incident, i still believe there's some bouncers out there who deserve a good ass whooping themselves. Luckily enough, i never got involved in any "pushing" with any of these big fellas, but i've seen some people get pretty roughed up for no apparent reason at all. But never the less, justice should not be made by the gun.
