I think I went to this one too. Truthfully, looking back on it the tracklist looks pretty epic, but I really think that tracklist is pretty similar to what he plays now. You just perceive them different. |

i agree, i'm blah about armin now because i've found sounds i like much better. he's not bad at all but just not my exact style anymore. but armin of 2006 brooklyn bridge was epic, friday and saturday were beyond amazing and i went to that show alone and STILL had the time of my damn life. |

I never go to big DJ parties and expect crazy dark beats all over the place. I actually like it that they play more "mainstream" edm tracks, it's awesome to hear all the new big tracks. I never really hear these songs played out anyway. I go to all the other NYC parties to hear techno and house and other edm I can't ID. The reason I love Armin's parties is for the music, energy and how he interacts with the crowd....he really makes it fun. A lot of his tracklists don't look good on paper, but then at 4am he plays some "cheesy" track and everyone in the place eats it up. |

I like it when he plays dark and techy, then he's usually pretty good. Armin @ Crobar was amazing, his first 3 sets at Spirit were also amazing, and also Saturday night @ Tobacco Warehouse was also phenomenal. I'm not that crazy about all of that uplifting stuff that he plays that tries to be uplifting but it isn't, it's just plain old cheese. That stuff makes me angry. If you're gonna play uplifting stuff, it's gotta be done right. |
