sooooooo Armin was in Boston last night...I chose not to go because after my Ferry experience I dont see myself wasting any more time in that "city"....
Elyse went though...set seemed rather meh :( I think he was just playing what HE likes and maybe feels the same way about bean town now as I do. I look forward to a good set next weekend. Ill let Elyse post her opinion/track list as she worked very hard on IDing and texting me EVERY SINGLE song as it came on last night. Thank Lyse!!!! :) |

totally didnt expect this. i haven't seen him spin since Pacha during that snowstorm after my bday dinner on March 16 2007. i got a ticket as a bday gift...dayams im still reeling from the shock. :eyes:

he likes harder, uplifting stuff...so i wish he'd play more of what he likes next weekend. unfortunately i think he's going to be playing what other people like - i.e. lost, in & out of love, etc. |

LOL...by what "he" likes- i meant to put that in quotes not caps- I meant he played anything and everything to promote himself and vocals...I have a feeling like he realizes NYC has a bigger crowd and more appreciation for good music :):) |

haha ok nice...i hope he feels that way. his set on halloween was a bit cheesy at the start but ended really strong! i hope he starts with that mash-up intro he played for trance energy! |

I agree. But I cant complain too much because i love armins cheese :) we dont get it too often so its fun for me :)
but i do hope he does feel that way and i do hope we get a sick 2nd half- i bet you it will be a very very similar set to halloween. |

ALRIGHTY FOLKS!! So I went to Armin last night at the Roxy in Boston!!! I got 3 hours sleep after being awake for 24 hours cause I had class this AM, so im gunna be as simple and direct as i can here lol bc im passing out as soon as im done!
1. The opener for this show was friggin Jerome Isma-Ae!!! And the promoters didnt even promote this!!!!... Are you kidding me? Idiots!!.. Well whatever, He was OKAY. Too Housey for my likes. It wasnt terrible or anything, some different tunes, prog-trancey but then he ended it really housey, which did not fit at all for opening for armin.. hello? I only caught like 45m of his set
2. Armin went on at 11:05 (yea, :05.. I made it a point to look) and played till like 1:50AM. I have to say i was not blown away - But I mean after all You know what your getting with Armin (which is more good than bad I would say, but still) - It was a good set over all. He didnt pick it up until 1am tho. He almost lost me around 12:30 it was getting kinda mediocre songs over and over. Also, consider that I worked that day 7a-7pm, and had beeen up since 4AM - and was stone sober. Danced my ass off tho :) I hung out up on the balcony with my friend Steve & Jon, and Randy & Karen for most of the night. good views overlooking the crowd and not crowded up there.
3. The sound system sucked ass dude- i dunno but the bass was all distorted, it was not a crisp clean sound at all, the speaker behind us kept turning on and off?
4. it was a tuesday night, the place was not soldout by anymeans but pretty packed..
okay track list!! this is mostly in order too - Many IDs are in the middle of all this below... especially the last hour which he KILLED but i couldnt ID a lot of it grrr (the last hour starts from DJ ECO & On- filled with good i could not ID!!)
I know everyonw wants to know what he opened with and IM SORRY but i dont know. I knew the tune... it was a proggy trancy song that ive heard recently on ASOT... non vocal..I wanna say it was a Myon & Shane 54 Remix, OR it could have been something by Arnej...
