Granted I'm a little messed up but the flier really didn't stir anything in my loins. "Multiple DJs on multiple stages." Who cares until acts are announced. It might have been a nice souvenir after TAO but it really deserves no acknowledgment on TA until we know who or where. We aren't the ignorant fan that flocks purely on a name sake. How sweetly stupid. I suppose I lost all possible options to work for Insomniac post college after this post. |
You lost all options after you saw a teaser? WHAT THE... |

i dont understand why companies advertise for events when they dont even have a venue or a partial lineup
that flier sure is informative! |
Because %75 the people that will show dont care where it is or who is playing, they will show based solely on the brand "how sweet it is." So if you have a date set, early promotion is key! Teaser flyers are quit common for massive parties, and at this point I think we can all agree that pasquale knows how to promote a massive. |

it doesnt pique your interest, nor make you want to know more about the event. |
your wrong, it is a teaser. It gives you a date, thats the tease. And you obviously want to know more about the event, such as the lineup!!! |

I don't like to piss and moan about in person, so I do it here OK!?!?!?!!?
DaveT on TA = A-Hole
DaveT in person = Chill
Everyone who knows me knows this!
And I wasn't even pissing and moaning. I was just correcting someone who was incorrectly calling a teaser flyer a press release. And then just being an a-hole and trying to egg him on because he I'll be damned if he is gonna argue with me about it! I made it pretty frickin' obvious I was joking, and also the one who stopped it, too...but you had to keep it going!
If anyone is pissing and moaning in this threads, it's you! Pissing and moaning about me!!!
You this mean to your students!??!? :-P |
i'll talk to you however i like dave so take that :D
lol haven't even really been reading the thread just saw you invited someone to argue with you and i was like, ok. |

i was going to quit this thread but i have a call out.
hi josh, please dont teach me on marketing and i wont teach you on djing.
please backread on other peoples posts to see how non-existent the tease it was. all the comments were on how stupid it is, etc. no one really asked, "oh wow, who are the headliners, im so excited to know now". the marketiing copy didnt even lead to that direction to create that "tease" in the minds of the consumer.
even the other poster assuming to know something about marketing amusingly contradicted himself.
and 75% go without knowing who the DJ was? is that why the one of the NYE events by the big players didnt do well? and that was a very well known brand too. if such is the case, then why even pay AVB or TIESTO to play when you can have TONY P or 72hourBILLY headline and still get 75% of the market to attend.
simply put josh, apologies, but youre terribly wrong in this case.
ps. maybe its better if you mix Psytrance using only Vinyls, rather than CDJs or a Laptop?:D the music quality is better and the tactile experience of flipping records cant be replaced...heheheh |

Like I said in the first sentence. I was a little off my rocker last night. Had to have a "second day of classes" party last night. |

ehhh what? I was not trying to teach you anything. Just letting you know that this is a teaser flyer. Teasing you with the date, just as the promoter of the event himself explained, and many other in the thread because it appears you are confused. So please dont be offended, as i was not trying to question your marketing genius.
As for your brilliant dj advice, Ive taken notes, thanks:wtf: |

A quality brand name in this business will not be built by booking tony P or 72hourbilly. Of course they are not going to throw in no name djs to a massive, thats rediculous as they have a standard to live up too.
But you can be sure that the name EDC, TAO, Nocturnal Wonderland, Monster Massive, etc are bigger then the DJs they book to most of its consumers. Kids will go to these parties whether they book AVB, Tiesto, Paul Van Dky, whoever. And there are plenty of kids that go to the party just because of the brand name and not because of the talent. Please dont try and argue against that. So unlike my previous post, now I am teaching you a thing about marketing:tongue2 |
