I think it ought to be fairly obvious that he was referring to Non-Linear Dimensionality Reduction. |

Irrelevant. I'm pretty sure the British didn't show up on Thatcher's ancestors doorstep to colonize her family. |
No, but they did treat her ancestors as property. Females belonged to the father, and eventually would be given/sold to her eventual husband. Do you KNOW how women were treated in the past, and how they CONTINUE to be treated today in many countries around the world? A white man hasn't owned a black slave in western civ for 60 years, women are still treated as property in countries throughout the world.
It is MUCH more significant that a woman was able to grasp power than a man. So Obama is black? He's just a man. There've been 43 other MEN who've run the United States, just like he's set out doing now. Just because he's black doesn't make a difference, , it's possible he won the election BECAUSE he is black. Do you know how far a guaranteed 14% of the vote can get you? He had 90+% of those who identified with his skin colour, Hillary barely carried 50% of those who identify through gender, which is a much more important similarity than the colour the sun happened to have turned your ancestor's skin through the generations. There are WOMEN who refuse to support the idea of having a woman in power, just because she's a woman. Good ing luck finding a black person who would agree that "A black man shouldn't be in power because he is black."
That's not to say there isn't any symbolism behind this day, after so many years of oppression and a belief that something so small as a man's ancestry could hold him back from being chosen by the people, it certainly is a significant message being sent to those who held such beliefs. But, to those of us who grew up ACCEPTING that all are equal, regardless of race, it shouldn't be a big deal. Because to us, we should simply see a 'man', not a 'black man'. |

seriously? but it's the truth..he's half white and half black...he is equally of both races..he is not the first full black president..he is the darkest president..i'm not trying to take anything away from anyone..i think it should be a very proud moment that a man that is half black was elected..the US has come a long way..but he is not full black...:conf: |
