Skipper; you should go outside and congratulate every black person you see on the street.

There are historic events that need to be remembered, but this isn't one of them......if this happened 60 years ago...then yes it would be historic.

A black president wasn't sworn in 60 years ago, he was sworn in today.

Do you think black people are saying it's no big deal?

Thats the problem right there....black people think its a big deal because he is black. Maybe they need to stop thinking in black and white....and start practicing what they preach to others....that they are humans just like everyone else.

That's what yesterday was for...

I guess I live in a different generation. I always grew up in a society that excepted everyone for who they were regardless of their colour or religion.

Personally, everyone should vote for whom they believe is the candidate for the position. Not for any other reason.

Let's elect a handicap in 4 year

I feel really bad for Obama... People expect waaay to much from him. and these expectations are based on nothing

It's a more "feel good" story if we just pretend he's fully black.

Whatever. This stupid discussion isn't going anywhere. Congrats to Obama. He clearly deserved it and I hope that he does a good job.

lol. you're not even a yank. is obama your personal saviour too? :p

the biggest political story for me today was that the cons and the libs are getting closer to a budget deal (see what I'm trying to drive at?);)

Are you kidding? Which planet do you come from that has this golden society that accepts everyone for who they are?

(assuming your typo on "excepted" is not intentional...?)
