I like Rank1's set very much but was blown away by DJ Hendo's set! :eyes: Hendo played before Rank1.

Last night rocked! There was never a dull moment of music! :D

Good to see Nusty and quite a few others again! :D

I really wanted to dance and bounce around all over the place but couldn't. :sadgreen:

DJ Hendo had good track selection but he mixed kinda slow (lots of downtime between tracks or tracks played for the full 8 minutes). I did enjoy it though

Here is a partial Rank 1 tracklist. I gave up after a while because I am terrible with hearing a song and getting it's name, but I recognized most of the songs:

1. ?
2. ? (Could possibly be 'And Then... - Rank 1)
3. Mirage (EDX's 5un5hine Remix?) - Passenger 10 (last song I ever expected to hear that night!)
4. You Never Said (Randy Boyer & Eric Tadla Mix?) - Matt Cerf, Jaren, Mitiska
5. Toca me (the new remix)
6. ?
7. L.E.D Let There Be Light - Rank 1
8. Some song with the lyrics "I'm trying to find you"
9. ?
10. ?
11. ?
12. ?
13. Some breaks song (mistake)
14. Breathing (Airwave)
15. Kyau vs. Albert - Walk Down
thats it, after that I lost total track of everything. sorry i did my best :D I think this was less than halfway into his set

I had a lot of fun! I'll be there again next week, obviously, but I don't think I'll be there again after that until the end of March because I will be gone every weekend... :—(

Last time I saw Rank 1 was at WMC 2007 and I was blown away. I was eagerly anticipating seeing him last night and, although good, he was not great. Don't get me wrong, it was still really good, but when you build up something in your mind, it kinda makes it hard to live up to expectations. I have to say, one thing that sucked was he only played for 2 hours. 2 hours?? C'mon?

It was my first time at Circus and I loved it! Great room, not too crowded, and there were no hassles. I agree with apeattack that it was too loud, especially for the DJ after Rank 1. It was turned up so loud that it became painful to me. I love the location of the DJ booth in the middle and the lights and lasers were very cool.

Piet was hanging out outside after his set and was gracious enough to talk to his fans.

Good night, good venue- I'll be back.

no...just "heated" conversations.

What a great night at Circus! Haven't seen so many people there since, since, I can't remember when! :D

Piet had the crowd moving, hands in the air, and everyone could feel the energy in the room. Rank 1 also handled the mob scene and paparazzi with ease, chatting with everyone outside for at least an hour after his set.

Video of L.E.D. There be Light (Trance Energy 2009 Theme Song) will be up soon as the hamsters at YouTube finish uploading it!

Click on Piet for more pics!

Wow! The booth setup with the lighting and the video screeens is amazing! Please keep it that way! :D

And wow, Piet just doesn't like to jump or clap his hands; worse than PvD. :stongue:

LOL, cant miss the tallest TA on the boards!
Looks nice and busy, good job circus! Although i dont like the DJ booth in the middle, the old booth is the best part of the club IMO

Yeah, that sums it up pretty well. It's cool to see so many TAs out these days :D

Piet's a senior citizen - he doesn't have the energy to do those things! :p J/K, he's just a "mellow" dj who doesn't wanna do cheesy dj poses.

Josh, you were missed! I agree about the dj booth location. I've always preferred the original location. I think it's better even for a dj, at least when there's not that many people in the main room. When the booth is in the middle of the room you can really see all the empty areas.

Don, what's up with the sneaky pics of me?! :whip: :tongue2

Sat night was definitely fun, although it was way too short and quite hectic for me for various reasons. It always turns out that way when Piet comes to town. He was up to his usual antics on Sat and he figured out a new way to torture me: I asked him to play my favorite song (Alex Morph & Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary) and he replied "I'll play it but then I'll also play the song you hate the most (Kyau vs Albert - Walk Down). You choose. What is it gonna be?" I thought I could just leave the room for that latter song and prevent my ears from bleeding so I said ok....After Piet was done with LLO, Walk Down came on and I started heading for the doors but my friends turned on me! They grabbed me and wouldn't let me go until the song was over! :whip: I think Michelle has pics of me sandwiched between two guys, kicking and screaming. Not.Pretty. At least Piet played Breathing for Xenpro and me without any condition.

Circus had "upgraded" the stage, which is nice that they're at least trying new things but that frame in front of the stage looked a bit scary because it was hanging from the ceiling by only thin strings and it kept moving constantly. The new lights were a bit distracting to Piet because one of them was right by the table where Piet had his cds and he had hard time seeing them so he sent me looking for a flashlight. Btw, since Piet made me his manager for the night, I told him he couldn't leave the club until he talked to all of his fans and signed everything people wanted him to sign :D

Nice meeting Jon Mitz!
