it was really great seeing so many familiar faces saturday night and of course i loved seeing piet. that was the main reason i was there. it killed me b/c piet and lee burridge were playing on the same night around the same time so i had to split my time between the 2 clubs.
i agree, his set wasn't the magic that wmc 2007 was but piet tried to explain that away to me and of course give me reasons why i won't like his music anymore, lol!

although my taste in music has changed over the last couple of years i will always go see piet and joof, they are talented and i respect their passion for the music they make and for the people they spin for. i appreciate the fun that piet has even though he doesn't bounce around, he's true to himself and his craft and connects with the crowd in his own way.

i hated the stage, that dj booth is what makes circus unique and should be used. and for christ sake, tone down the lights, too fcking bright and that guy going on and on giving away the money, it isn't a hip hop club, don't spit out slang like it is and TURN DOWN THE MICROPHONE WHEN YOU ARE SPEAKING, didn't you notice all the people with their fingers in their ears, it was painful.

great to see my friends and piet, wish i coulda stayed longer but i couldn't miss lee either

:tongue2

quoted for truth on both the lights and the idiot announcer. HOLD UP HOLD UP!!!! At least you weren't there the first night they did it when he kept trying to get everyone to scream "Give me my ing money" absolutely retarded.

As for Piet's set he played some good songs, but I found his lack to be lacking any real flow and was kind of all over the place, in addition I found that his mixing was off from the last time I saw him. It wasn't as good as the last time I saw him.

I liked the DJ before him though nice slow build up for Rank 1 not banging it out like most people, but still very good tracks and got the evening off to a nice start.

I thought the sound was much better than normal and I felt that the the new stage location helps with the better sound as the old stage has the old speakers which sound horrible. The speakers were EAW not the Funktion one that was on the flier which was definitely misleading.

The really frustrating thing for me is that I really like Circus and the people who work there. I just wish they would dial in the lighting and sound. It has so much potential it just doesn't seem like anyone really cares. In addition I find the new DJ booth location destroys the laser positioning and the laser should really be moved. The LED lights that they were using were much too bright and they needed better lighting on the gogos. The new visuals are better than the bryce 3d ones they had before though it seems like the loop was pretty short.

It was great seeing all the TA's all night long almost as many as for J00F and Christopher Lawrence.

Hey bud! I remember you that night. I was heading out and ran into you on the dance floor! On the back of my TA shirt it reads: LA and below was my user name - epic007

I dont get out that much anymore, but I must say, Circus was rocking that night. I hope you have as fun as I have for the past 5 or 6 years!

the openers need to learn when to turn up the volume.

if the room is empty there is NO. REASON. to max out the sound. it's too ing loud.

you need to only turn it up when there are people in the room (people are the best (or worst depending on how you look at it) insulator/dampener for sound, so when there are a lot of people it will sound quieter

most DJs dont have any audio engineering education or understanding :(

I talked to the club about the sound being too loud, they're going to keep an eye on it from now on. :p

Yeah, I didn't remember an 'LA' posting on the Circus threads.

Maybe next time I'll get a chance to say hi to some other TAs.

What a great night!!!!

Got to Circus 5 minutes before Midnight.
I agree the announcer for the raffle was way too LOUD!!!! There is really no reason to get OG with it and scream!
The sound over all was better then it was for Solarstone. Think having more people in the club helps with that.

I enjoyed Peit's set. Had me dancing the whole time. :) It was also nice seeing all the support for him.

Question... when will the hip-hop stop in the loft??? Went up around 1:30 for my last drink and there good trance playing. Also it is too loud up there too!

I will post my pictures soon!!!!

When I told the Circus management that Piet needed a flashlight they said they were gonna turn up the lighting over the dj booth. I'm not sure what lights they were talking about and I don't know how the change affected Piet or the room because I didn't notice any difference. Just wondering if the room was brighter because of it.

Kittycrush: Let's just do our usual Facebook thing :D

sorry guys, but sound issues have been mentioned to circus for years now. I have a strange feeling they are going to fall on deaf ears. Circus's sound system is capable of better things, but its going to take a knowledgable sound engineer get it up to par. Something the club has lacked for a while now. It really hasnt been the same in there since they broke down the wall in the main room.

However certain things can be blamed on the DJ's themselves, such as absurd highs and what not. Some DJ's dont know how to respect the redlines on a DJ mixer and think that louder = better.
