I basically called him a hypocrite after that, but then I started to wonder, is it hypocritical of a person to be attracted to something they believe is fundamentally wrong (based on their religious beliefs?)

You should give him to me so I can rape him. |

See my above post Krypton. If the big argument here is going to be about Leviticus then argue with an Orthodox Jew or a Hasidic Jew. The teachings in Leviticus are contradicted and discontinued in the New Testament and are replaced by tolerance. It's amusing to me that dumb atheists (not saying you Krypton, more along the lines of Ricky Martin or whatever RickyM is supposed to stand for) think Christians cling to Leviticus as a safety blanket when in fact a vast majority of Christians pay very little attention to it and focus on the new and positive message of the Gospels. |
Doesn't 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 basically call homosexuals criminals and equate them on the same level as prostitutes, thieves, drunkards, and liars? Every gay person I'v meet are attracted to the same sex in exactly the same way a straight person is attracted to the opposite sex. I don't understand why a loving god would punish people for feeling this way. |

Skinny stupid...Bleh. Just tell him that being black is wrong and when he says "why do you say that?!?" just reply, "ohhhh I can be just as narrow minded as you."
The bright side is gay marriage will become legalized soon as open-minded teenagers become legal and old people die off. |

You know what, it, I'll say it. The only reason religion is still relevant and practiced is cause it has essentially been grandfather clause'd into public life from generation to generation.
That aside, whose ing business is it for Christians to say whether or not gay people can get married. Thats a question I don't think I've ever heard answered completely. The only argument I've heard is that it 'violates the sanctity of marriage,' but since when is marriage only for christians? What the hell is so wrong with saying that if you're christian, don't marry someone of the same sex, but if you're not then go for it? |

I agree that if someone isn't Christian they can do whatever they want, but if you call yourself Christian follow the rules.
Because there is free speech, any group is allowed to have a voice. Therefore Christians are allowed to be against gay marriage just like (if they wanted) gay people can be against Christian marriage. |

So then you think that gay marriage should be perfectly legal? |

Homosexual offenders, aka people who commit homosexual acts. Notice how he references male prostitutes right before? That's what he's referring to when he writes that passage.
As for marriage, the reason a male Christian cant marry a fellow man or woman marry a woman is because it wont result in a baby. Marriage = babies. At least for Catholics, I'm sure those crazy protestants have come up with all kinds of other stuff :p
If a homosexual wants to become a Christian then the reality is they are going to have to live a chaste life. Just like many Christians do, and many homosexual Christians do.
On the other hand, as a Catholic, I am not against law makers making homosexual marriages legal. Why? Because not everyone believes what I do, but if you want to be a Christian then tough luck. I'm not someone who goes around crapping on other people's beliefs regardless of how I feel about them (unless it's something truly horrible like child molesting or rape etc yes yes Catholic priest joke :p). |

I'm all for it being legal, but when it comes to calling yourself a Christian, sorry it's a no no for men to each other in the pooper. |

Thanks for admitting that you cherry pick from the bible. The message of the gospel is positive? You mean the message that states that people will burn in hell for not believing that jesus was the son of god?
Leviticus is relevant to this discussion, regardless of how you dodge the issue. Whether or not the laws still apply, it was still your god advocating these horrors, if that's the sort of being you want to worship then fine...but don't call me 'dumb'. |

Could you state the bible verse which you base this viewpoint on? |
