Can I ask one thing. Was your car parked to the left or the right of this sign no matter how close or far it was?

No parking anytime --> [could be 1,000,000 miles]<--No parking anytime

until you notice that other no parking sign with the arrow facing the first one even one does not exist meaning street corner occurs or you see a sign with nothing on it then that would be my only reasoning.

If your car was to the left of that sign then I would be sure without hydrants, yellow lines then it should be ok and un freakin fair :conf:

I got my $125 no parking once going to Crobar parking between these trucks. The day I noticed the no parking sign when I got the ticket! After that always parked on the west side hw. Easy walk and always found a spot with no hassel.

^I was to the left of this sign. I always parked by West Side HWY when I go to Pacha. But then I got towed that time I mentioned. So now I park closer to residential areas.

I parked right behind you and I didn't get a ticket lol. Traffic cops don't give a . Their job is to make the city money any way possible. I would send in your photos, along with a letter explaining your side of the story and they might just drop it......I've done it a few times and it has worked.

There was van of some type behind me when I parked. Like those working company vans.

Yea, I'm going to go in person for the appeal. This $65 one I just got, I'll send all proof via mail. If I get a guilty determination, I will appeal :)

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but pictures of an anonymous sign somewhere in new york, which can't be accurately located simply by looking at the picture, is not the magic bullet that will win you this case. You're probably SOL unless you can prove under the NYC parking regulations that it was legal to park in that location. Furthermore, the vague descriptions of the ticket location will make that process slightly more difficult (not sure if the tickets still contain a generic location).

good luck though

That's my van. I just got new carpeting in it and you can hardly hear the screams.

I wonder why they say to mail proof if you're not guilty if that's all irrelevant in the first place? No matter. I hope to take care of this soon.

parking tickets are an enormous, and consistent, source of city revenue. The city has one small problem with handing out tickets; i.e., the city must comply with your due process rights guaranteed under the constitution. The city can't take your money unless it meets the minimum standards of due process. As a result, the city is constitutionally bound to hear your story anytime they cite you for a violation of law in which the sanction is the deprivation of property (i.e., money).

good luck. i'd just pay the 65 and call it a day, but that's just me.

Thanks for your words, man. Definitely enlightened me on a few things.

That's what they count on when they write tickets that are unfair!
Your point earlier about vague pictures and descriptions is well taken, though. Mike you need a wide shot that can accurately prove where in the city that sign is.
