No, Because the how Love + Fest are combined to make the word "LoveFest" is what makes it catchy. Can't think of another word that can be merged up against it to keep it catchy. |

Maybe they should just hire a guy from a marketing firm and pay him in a steak dinner to come up with a name... Did some googling and found out...
MusicFest, it's in Colorado...
Musikfest is in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania... :stongue:

Here's a quote from the original Email they sent out:

We will still be the same special event, with the same intention thrown by the same team. Sadly, Reza from Go Ventures in LA threatened to sue us because he has a party called The Love Festival. As a non-profit event without the resources for court battles, we decided to take the high road and involve you in the next step."
then they posted in the RaveLinks GoVentures bashing thread this:
"Hey folks,
We've been alerted that our date announcement email set off drama because of our name change situation. We're sorry for any negativity that has created, it's not our intent to be divisive. We'd like to ask everyone to stop the bashing and instead use your creativity to help us develop a new and better name for the event.
We did not feel the name San Francisco LoveFest : A Dance Music Parade & Festival, infringed on Go Ventures trademarked name of the 'The LoveFestival', given how common the words love and festival are... But, they did, and they have a trademark on it. To their credit, Go Ventures offered us a licensing agreement for no money, but a stake in control of the brand name. Given the potential for confusion or conflict, we decided it was preferable to develop a new name.
Go ventures has stated they are supporters of our event and we accept that. We are about love, after all. We wish everyone in the scene throwing good parties the best of luck.
