OMG, Mirco De Govia- Voller Sterne (Super 8 remix)! To tell you the truth, i find most of these prog tracks extremely boring, but this is a hulluva of pure epic track!!!

*grabs glowsticks

Out Of Our Lives is also sympathetic (nice greek word lol)

Great tracks. I too want to hear this style of records again. Producers have to go back to making the music they love imo.
Subtle
They are gone because its all about making music for clubs now.

As for the threadstarter, i think that there are still a lot of prog tracks with nice melodies produced and to tell you the truth most of them sound better than that mcprog period. Whilst im not in EDM today, i think that stuff by Mango, Claes Rosen,Eelke Kleijn, Joonas Hahmo, the stuff in Toes in the Sand label etc. are quite good melodic prog. Recently i got the cravings for some good melodic tracks myself and this guy/girl in Youtube called "OnlyProgHouse" has posted some (a lot actually) very good modern melodic progressive tracks. A few random ones i liked.

Exoplanet- Clouds (original mix)
[very lush and hypnotic]

Claes Rosen- Kalte Hund (Original mix)
[i love this track. Very "moving", cinematic and sensual]

Retroid- Chasing Rainbows (Original mix)
[futuristic tranceo-house backbone and abstract trippy pads and effects]

Dousk- Blender (Original mix)
[bladerunnerish, Vangelis-themed trancey house that seems to develop forever, bringing to mind the end-of-90s/00s Breeder era of progressive)

Exoplanet- Explorer (original mix)
[more very good hypnotic stuff by those relatively unknown-i guess- producers)

To tell you the truth i think that these tracks are way better than those plastic-sounding nerdy Tilt/Probspot/insertgenericplingplongmcprog tracks featured in Armin's compilation :toothless

But then again i don't know if they have enough "full-on" melodies for you. In the end of the day good progressive house is not supposed to have very long full-on epic melodies because the melody is usually entangled within the (phenomenally) slowly developing hypnotic house rhtyhms and fading effects. You have a specific genre for full-on melodies and its called Unicor errmm sorry epic-trance

Daniel Kandi is probably the only epic-trance producer i like. He is the master in the Epic-romantic (cheesy for you) Hollywood-type "nostalgia-for-a-summer-past" lead-line. Too much good PLUR!

I can imagine the lead-lines of his tracks played just by an orhestra or a violin, seriously, they would make a great score in a film. Some of these trance producers are wasting their talent with trance lol.

Dude, your posts look more and more like Trance-MB's everytime you type something. Seriously, you need to cut down on those happiness pills. Exorbitant PLUR consumption may damage your inner unicorn child.

Pretty much. Back in 2004 everyone and their dog was bitching about how music was nothing like back in 1999. Music evolves and changes, tastes change, etc etc.
