I personally think Mos-Def is one of the last few in the Hip-Hop scene that still has something respectable to contribute. I also think he's a pretty decent actor to boot.
I mentioned him, I just didn't highlight him. I almost went to see him live last month, but I haven't heard much new from him in awhile. He was great with Talib, and his first solo album was awesome as well, but he's not a top five contemporary rapper for me I guess.

the rest of common's UMC album sucks? damn i really like that song and i've been meaning to check out the rest of the album. i mean yea it's a bit repetative, but it's catchy as hell and sounds great on a nice sound system. i love common:D saw him live at a jamie foxx show once. he was a special guest and it was a surprise. all of a sudden he busted out on stage rapping and i was like NO WAY! everyone went nuts.

The album doesn't suck, I just don't like it as much as his previous two. Universal Mind Control just seems a huge departure for him - I think he's at his best when he's more downtempo, like in The Light or Go.
