I do understand what you say here but what you're saying tends to weigh a lot more on the genres of "uplifting" or "epic" trance. I used to be a big uplifting trance fan until I went to my first rave and saw Markus Schulz & Tiesto live at ETD Pop 2008. I never understoond prog/electro/tech trance styles until that night and now i can barely stand uplifting trance. Its just all supersaw and/or saw pluck. i tend to think of it as saw-trance.

Truth is that uplifting/epic trance is "mainstream trance" because its more catchy than more progressive styles of trance and, just like mainstream of every other genre in the world, its too formulaic. I find that the majority of trance is just uninspired and without soul these days. However, there are still really good trance tracks around, but its more like finding a diamond in the rough.

Let us all remember though that trance music is not about listening, but about feeling. A good track is a good track regardless what key it is written in, even if it happens to be C/Am.

its almost psy imo. real trance imo is : Binary Finary - Cryogen, some uplifting leads, some acid, some 909 drums, fast bpm = success

this trance track by rank-1 let their be light gives a perfect example of how a producer can create a track and never have the worry of genre restrictions.

a perfect blend of everything hard to pull of but then the man is a genius.

Yeah, its not the same generic cookie trance stuff, although the arrangement is slightly confusing, but its made for dance floor so.

in my mind i was thinking the arrangement was what make the track so good. it may sound easy to do but tis it aint.but then making tunes is no easy thing anyway.
