Anyone wanna jamsession with VSTunnel?

http://www.vstunnel.com/en/0,41,00.html

You put it on your master and connect to a session, and the master channels form all participants is synced up, in the free version you can't save, and the loop is limited to 1 minute long on low/medium quality...but you can use Edison or another program to record the master, and the quality is good enough.

Me and Cybernetika use it all the time, atleast 2 times a week for a couple hours. Its good for two to 3 people, any more and its kinda crowded.

Best of all, you can use any host. I can use cubase, cyber could use fl and someone could use ableton or logic for example, doesn't matter.

Anyways, if people want to session then hit me up crono_devir @ hotmail .com on windows live messenger [msn messenger]

I posted this because we are all talking about inspiration and doing new stuff, what better way than to jamsession?

I'll throw up some mp3s of our last jamsession. Its about 30 minutes of music [couple of hours making it, only the goodaprts saved :P]
i'm game only a bit confused how it all works so i will need to have a lookie and see how to do this :D

I agree, VSTunnel is really awesome if you are looking for inspiration. If you dont have a creative producer near you, look for one on the internet and jam away. The end result is not always amazing, sometimes it is a bit predictable and very loopy... but this is not the point. It will give you a sense for arrangement and harmony progressions, and if you feel like you have a mental blockade you can always hope for the other one to inspire you, if all fails just contribute a loop.

I recommend you record your jamsessions with audacity or something like that. This way you can see how the sounds evolved. If all persons working on the session save frequently, you can always go back to a certain point where you think "oh this sounds nice, lets make it a starting point for a track". I actually had a lot of these moments when we just had a nice groove going.

I think one of the differences between a great artist and a mediocre artist, is that the mediocre artist uses rules to conform while the great artist uses rules to help inspire creativity.

The sculptor asks himself, "What can I make of this block of wood?"

If there weren't any rules, art wouldn't be art. The fun of it is imposing a rule on yourself so you can see just how creative you can be.

There's also the issue of people wanting to conform to emulate success, while at the same time people are neophiles and they get tired of the same old thing. You see this all of the time in pop music where there's some band or artist with a certain sound, and it gets copied a million times and then people eventually hate it. So something new comes out and it happens all over again.

i told someone i liked trance and they said they hated it. this person was hot, had nice boobs, and a freshly waxed vagina (but i'm only guessing). it seems my recent fling with trance means no nani bobani, but i much prefer cosmosis in the bedroom to finely toned legs and a flat stomach griding on my crotch.

:D
