I'm not arguing about the advances of medical technology here, its your failure to see how easily things like this are spread.
Theres so many other factors involved, how about the people who are immunosuppressed? Children, elderly, those with existing conditions.
And correct me if i'm wrong, but weren't you the one who got mono? Oh noes maybe you should of washed your hands a bit more.
i just think everyone is ing going overboard about this . and there's no ing reason for people to be storming hospitals trying to get a ing vaccine.
hey you know what else spreads really easy? the HIV virus.
like i originally said, there's no need to panic. and just because you get the flu, doesn't mean you're going to die. (like a lot of the news media make you think will happen)
for s' sake we're not talking about Stephen King's "The Stand" here

New strains of flu are scary, the flu virus mutates constantly meaning our bodies natural defenses aren't prepared to handle such a threat.
HIV spreads through sex, not by simply shaking hands with someone or touching a table or something in public.
I don't understand how you don't see this as a threat, it's not exactly out of control yet and there are people going overboard, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. We don't have medicine that just cures the flu, we can fight it but if it's a new strain that becomes a pandemic, millions of people would still die despite our medical advances.
This flu in particular seems at least somewhat virulant. The implications of this are massive, especially in today's society where travel is such a huge part of so many peoples' lives.
I'm telling you this seems very scripted.... they are setting obama up.
First the Blagovich BS.... that didnt work.... then they sank the economy....its comming back... now this... what next

also maybe you should just have a look at some facts in regards to types of influenza.
The "Spanish flu", 1918–1919- In six months, some 50 million were dead;[30] some estimates put the total of those killed worldwide at over twice that number.[31] An estimated 17 million died in India, 675,000 in the United States[32] and 200,000 in the UK.
The "Asian Flu", 1957–58- First identified in China in late February 1957, the Asian flu spread to the United States by June 1957. It caused about 2 million deaths globally.
The "Hong Kong Flu", 1968–69- caused about 34,000 deaths in the United States. This virus was first detected in Hong Kong in early 1968, and spread to the United States later that year. This pandemic of 1968 and 1969 killed an estimated one million people worldwide.
