Coming from a strictly detached standpoint it is cool.
I mean obviously its not good, but this is the first time a virus has been able to propagate so quickly.
People have been theorizing about it for a long time now, and we sort of saw it with SARS. China is a lot more of a closed society in many ways though and for the most part it was caught and handled internally. Things did move fairly fast though even there, but compared to this its pretty insane.
This time we didn't see the signs until thousands of people came in contact with it and now we see just how quickly a virus can move. International airports and airlines carried this thing all over the world before any one knew what was up.
Also the fact that its a combined strain of four different flu virii is pretty neat. |
