Politically Correct and Music

Do you think EDM artists should follow some sort of conditioned, formal, well mannered way of dealing with issues and people? For example John Digweed, everything you hear out of his mouth is some fairytale bs. Or should artists be themselves and deal with issues how they normally would? For example Omar S. Should an artist who is successful be politically correct at all times?
Im just thinkin, if I were ever to be successful, I guess the success would humble me enough to think twice about what I say, but I would'nt create some bs politically correct persona so that people and their moms like me. |

what do you consider successfull ? I only ask because i somehow thought you allready were. I mean you do treat people like crap, but on the other hand, you seem humble since i have a hard time finding all those links to all the hits people that typically are famous tend to flaunt.
I'm really not sure now. I remember you asking a question about copyright, and it strikes me as odd not for the simple nature of the answer but i just always assumed someone with such self inflated self worth would have an assistant to deal with that.
But i suppose i am a scene noob ( i think that is how you phrased it) , and people with such little understanding of the scene, something else you said which actually is confusing me more in that for some reason, the number under your name says 2008. IS this how long you have been a member ? Quite astonishing now that i think about it. I mean to accomplish all the things you did , in less than a year. Wait, i'm lost again. What exactly have you done. I suppose it doesn't matter.
The point I'm making is that despite everything you've said and done, you should not be too hard on yourself for even tho you might be quite the , the talent , that is once you actually start making songs, or mixes or flyers for events that don't exist showing said talent that is somewhat invisible right now, will override any of those other qualities that make you understandably quite revolting. |

You mean they will loose all their white listeners. :P
White people are the man supporters of this crap PC environment we live in today. Europe is just horrible in this respect. Go to Germany for instance and say "only 5,999,999 Jews died in ww2", and you can be jailed. |

Yah see, I don't think it matters much. For example, someone like Omar S, he could probably cuss out anyone, and tell them to themselves to hell, and I doubt it would affect his career much. I don't think Political Correctness is important in Underground Music. We have no major label executive to appease, no major marketing campaign or product line to support. We can make music that we want to make, and if someone bothers us, we can say YOU in your ass. I mean there is no huge machine to stop you from your success, no forum nerd to stop a promoter from calling you up to play a gig, no website to stop you from selling good music. Since your main product is quality music, not your image towards the world. Now your personality might be of some importance, but that is if you are a DJ and thats during your live shows, and there really isnt room or a place that requires any unpolitical behaviour anyhow.
For example, Deadmau5. The dude basically said DJ's lol. He's a producer, and DJ's pay his bills for the most part. Now this would be quite the case of politically incorrectness but has it really affected him? A good portion of the major forums hate on him, but is he any less successful? No. All the hate towards him is really meaningless in the grand scheme of things. His average listener does'nt even hear the small voices on forums that hate on him, so in essence most people are just wasting their time hating on him.
So what im saying is, I guess I like the fact and the beauty about EDM, and Underground Music in general, you don't have to have some BS persona where you get people to like you in order to be successful. Good music (subjective to fans) will get you heard no matter what. :D |

By us , are you talking about you and diginut? I think diginut is the type of person that wouldn't say such a thing because he seems a tad smarter than that.

that isn't how i read it. The version i heard was that you think you are so famous that you can tell people to off . You seem to think that what applies to a world class act will also apply to you. Basically you think you are like Deadmau5 minus all the hits and such, and finally , the best part about EDM, is how you can be a prick because you have good music, assuming you start writing some I'm guessing. I think most people would of put good music at the top. |

obviously
i mean i'm sure you could nab a way cuter guy being the celebrity you are.
But let's say that you weren't famous, and that i was similarly gay, would you like it if i dressed in a mouse outfit. I only ask because the second you aren't putting people down, you are talking about deadmau5.
Being serious I'm actually curious if you've ever even made a song ? Because i would love to hear it. |

Well I'm pretty sure there are a million little tweakers like you ready to buy glowsticks.
quote: | And the fact that you see $20 service as absolute scam, even though the mans equipment is probably worth more than all your belongings, it makes you come off retarded a bit | .
Now you are saying his equipment(3/4 of which i'm pretty sure you are never even heard of ) is so awesome, which you asssume must mean he is awesome yet you think someone with that equipment is somehow paying the rent with the wage a MacDonalds worker makes in London? And i'm the retard ?

How do you get scammed from a mastering job? It is either good or bad, no one can steal from you, most places give you a demo upon request of their work beforehand. See how stupid your argument is? Now you learned something, you're welcome =) |
how strange that someone in this very thread made a comment about getting scammed in such a way.
so in summation , you seem to think pretty damn highly of yourself, yet i am having a really really hard time finding some of your awesome work. Despite even in pm , you wont. Is it possible that these songs are not really so real ? But i don't think you would be that lame. So why not just share a link? |
