i would say that production wise
alot of good stuff is harder to find imo
but when it comes to the nyc trance scene i feel its great

so far this year alot of parties have been good crowds who come there for the music and to have a good time

theres a few of the bigger dj's who imo have fell off
i wont get into names but they arent what they used to be and they arent bringing trance in the right direction with what they are spinning

some tracks iam feeling at the moment

haylon-starfighter (deepcare remix)
matt skyer-lunar
existone-the chasm

There's just been a flood of cheesey vocal "trance" lately. Probably because it's more marketable, but it is making it harder to find quality tracks.

I like his style, I got a set of his online that I really enjoyed. Nyc and the surronding areas is home to quite a few good djs not just trance. I feel pretty lucky to have grown up around these parts.

meh. it's mega wack until labels stop releasing soo much crap.

I think there is far too much supply not enough demand.

I have - of course, fallen off the trance boat but, I still listen to it cuz I have my boyfriend around.

Believe me.... if it wasn't for him - My trancing consumption would be super low.

Crowd wise and party wise ... I am having much more fun.

Breakfast for President.
Marcus Schossow for VP.
Moonbeam for Secretary of State.
Rafael Frost for Chief of Staff.

I'll let you guys have your own opinion of my own stuff (don't want to try and convert non-believers haha), but the music I'm putting out in the next few months is definitely very far from cookie-cutter ordinary trance. That doesn't make it good or marketable or mean everyone will like it but my intentions were good, so I can't wait to let you guys hear some of it when it comes out soon. It takes a step in the Pink Floyd direction, as far as trance and electronic music is concerned, and I'm really excited about it :) Imagine Pink Floyd meets Nathan Fake meets Ferry Corsten...

Not only that, but there's too many labels (across the board, in all genres)!!... I respect everyone for their music, dedication, and hard work, but even in NYTA alone, there's at least 5 labels owned here!! Multiply that on a global scale of every city and every group of EDM heads, and there's a million small labels trying to put music out. To an extent, that's great, but we're seeing the downside of it as well, for us to be having this discussion...
